Cycle Service Course

A steady flow of bikes in for service, and here are a couple of highlights from the last couple of days.

A Trek Bicycle Domane, which I custom built a couple of years ago. In for an end of summer service and conversion back to roadbike after being a fast gravel bike for a trip to Tuscany.

The Gravel tyres off, got fitted to a new set of GRX Gravel wheels, so the bike can be multi use !

Next up is a Ridley Bikes Fenix which also arrived for a thorough end of season service. Now ready to be put away for the winter.

Not very often I get something this special. A Trek Madone Project One, Lidl-Trek replica race bike. This one equipped with 12 speed Ultegra Di2 and Enve 4.5 wheel. Topped off with a C-Bear ceramic BB and Ceramic Pulley wheels.

Spaceship day in the Cycle Service Course Workshop today.

3 Ironmen. One at the end of their season and the other 2 preparing for their next events. The Merida Time Warp, serviced and ready for Ironman Portugal in a few weeks time. The Trek Speed Concept has reached the end of its season and is serviced ready to be put away for the winter. Finally, the Trek Emonda (which won't be heading out to a race) has also had its annual service. Its owner is prepping for Ironman Turkey, also coming up soon.

Its not very often we get customers from outside of the North West, with a few exceptions, who are spread across the Midlands, North of England and throughout Wales.

This customer came all the way from TEXAS, USA, for us to service his Scott Foil. Granted Curtis Huynh did used to live in West Manchester and has been a customer for many years, but it makes us proud that he's travelled half way across the globe for us to look after his bikes.

Off road day in the Cycle Service Course Workshop!

A pair of gravel bikes in for service after a "Glorious Gravel " event in Kielder Forest. Both the LIV and Canyon serviced ready for a 3 week trip to the Italian Dolomites.

Then we had a full strip and rebuild on a Dolan Sporco. Upgrading the groupset from 11 speed cable GRX to the new fully wireless 12 speed, GRX 827. Ready now for the upcoming North West CX League.

Not often you get the often your get to work on a 1 of 8 bike!

This very special Specialized Bicycles S-Works Aethos "Founders edition", came into the qorkshop after an incident with a car.

After Rob Hayles carbon repaired a cracked seatstay, I was able to get to work on the rest of the bike. The lever blade on the left hand lever had sheared off. After sourcing a replacement via my SRAM guru, I was able to diaassemble and rebuild the lever !

A full service followed and its now looking and working great.

6.5kg with pedals and Chris King titanium bottle cages, this is one of the lightest standard bikes that I've ever had in the workstand.

Back to full power in the workshop now after my last block of road racing with USA Cycling.

Some good variety which has become a theme over the last 12 months.
- A TT bike prepped for Ironman 70.3 works champs in Nice,
- A custom built Gloria Titanium bike in for some TLC after a summer of long distance rides/races.
- Liv Envlive from a new customer having a full service.
- Finally a Specialized Stumpjumper MTB, which also needed some TLC.
