Congratulations to FirstPoint athlete Sam Christian who has committed to NCAA Buffalo State University in New York.

Talented central midfielder Sam previously played for Workington Town, then made the move to the States last year to play for NCAA DIII Anna Maria College in Massachusetts. He played 15 games for the MCats, starting in 12 and scoring one goal.

He will join the Buffalo State Men's Soccer program this Fall to play under head coach Francesco Cardillo. The Bengals have earned SUNYAC playoff berths in six of the last seven seasons, including back-to-back trips to the semifinals in 2019 and 2021, a return to the semifinals in 2023, and back-to-back championship game appearances in 2024 and 2025.

Congratulations to FirstPoint athlete Josh McVeigh who has committed to NCAA DI High Point University in North Carolina.

Talented golfer is a member of Upminster GC in Essex, and he will join the High Point University golf club team this Fall.

The Panthers are members of the Big South Conference and finished 3rd in the conference championship stroke play last season, while also winning the Red Flash Invitational earlier in the year.

High Point University Athletics has undergone a massive transformation in recent years and are now renowned as a mid-major powerhouse in NCAA DI athletics. Panther student-athletes are offered top class NCAA Division I facilities that mirror the university’s overall commitment to luxury and professional grade environments.

We are thrilled to welcome renowned international coach Spencer Henderson as our new Director of Golf!

With over 25 years of industry experience, Spencer is widely recognized as one of Europe’s most respected junior golf coaches. His career includes high-profile leadership roles as National Coach across Scotland, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.

Throughout his career, Spencer has coached and mentored top-tier talent, including golfers who have progressed onto the DP World Tour and enjoyed successful NCAA college golf careers. He led Scotland to a European Youth Team Championship title, and was integral to Scotland’s success at the World Amateur Team Championship, in a team which featured FirstPoint alum Callum Macaulay and Gavin Dear.

Most recently, Spencer has been coaching elite juniors at Open Champion Paul Lawrie’s Academy in Aberdeen.
