Welcome to A Night of Reno Vibes

The Reno was far more than an underground music club in Manchester’s Moss Side. It was a cultural institution—a place where music, community and identity came together to create something truly unforgettable.

Born during a time when racism, prejudice and exclusion were everyday realities, the Reno became a sanctuary for people searching for a sound, an atmosphere and a sense of belonging that simply couldn’t be found in the city centre venues. Behind its doors, the music spoke louder than the outside world.

The Reno DJs were more than selectors—they were tastemakers. They introduced club classics long before they became anthems, unearthed forgotten B-sides, and created dancefloor moments that have become part of Manchester’s musical history. Their sets shaped generations of DJs and music lovers, establishing the soulful soundtrack that would influence the city’s nightlife for decades to come.

The club’s reputation was legendary. For many, the journey into Moss Side was an adventure in itself, but those who made it knew they were about to experience something special. The atmosphere, the people, the music and the energy created a vibe that countless people still talk about today. For those who were there, the Reno remains one of Manchester’s greatest legends.

Now, for one special night, the original Reno DJs return to South Manchester at another iconic venue—Niamos (formerly The Nia Centre).

This isn’t simply a reunion; it’s a celebration of the music, memories and culture that made the Reno so unique. Expect the soulful grooves, rare gems, reggae, funk, disco and timeless classics that defined an era and inspired so many careers behind the decks.

Whether you danced at the Reno or have only heard the stories, this is your chance to experience the spirit of one of Manchester’s most influential musical movements.

Join the Reno DJ family as they take you on a journey through nostalgia, community and the music that united us all.

Our music. Our memories. Our Reno Vibes.
