Longtime Homoelectric friend Conor Collins has an exhibition "To See and be Seen"

To coincide with the launch of Q***r Up North 1992-2002: Celebrating
Manchester's LGBTQ+ Heritage digital archive, HOME has commissioned
Manchester based, q***r artist Conor Collins to respond to selected material from the archive.

"There are people who paint flowers, there are people who paint landscapes and there are those of us who spend years trying to paint the things we cannot quite explain. The eyes that follow us from childhood. The masks we inherit. The odd little heartbreaks we carry around in our pockets like lucky charms.

The works I will be showing are about identity, memory, q***r joy, vulnerability, performance, and that peculiar human habit of working out who we are while we are busy being who we might be.

If you’ve ever felt different, too much, not enough, wonderfully strange, or gloriously impossible to categorise, you may find something of yourself staring back"

Come for the art. Stay for the conversation. And if nothing else, come and spend an evening surrounded by some brand new oddities.

The preview takes place on 7th July at HOME Manchester, Granada Foundation Galleries. The exhibition will then run 8th July to 31st October.
