Final big shakedown ride before we head to Türkiye for the first edition of the Ta**us Mountain Race - in 14 days we’ll be in the air.

Started early and cold so that’s a bonus. Nothing fell off and except for a couple of last minute swaps we’re good to go.

So that’s a heads up, in 2 weeks we’ll be closed for two weeks, get in if you need owt. Last day is the 10th October.

We’re so stoked for this trip 😎 1460k and thirty something thousand metres of climbing ( and descending!! ) over max. 10 days. Just our bag.

This Salsa Journeyer left us probably in 2019?

It’s a 9s cable braked Shimano Sora model with 650b wheels and 2.2” tyres.

That same year this modest steed took our customer to Kyrgyzstan for the Silk Road Mountain Race. They both finished and had a right old adventure doing so.

This year they’re headed to Türkiye 🇹🇷 for the first edition of the Ta**us Mountain Race to recapture some of that epic Mountain Race vibe.

Good times lay ahead after a new set of dynamo wheels and a Sinewave Beacon light set.

Sometimes only the craziest will do.

Other times there’s just the right tool for the job.

Then we put it back together with the good parts that were remaining.

All worked out great.

A long day for a long bike ride

Holloways, dirt tracks, farmland and woody trails with its fair share of the black stuff too. Gotta get to the petrol station or pub 😉

It has a little bit of everything and goodness, quite a lot of gates. All sorts of surfaces and all sorts of weather at the moment. Quite lovely.

The chaos of the tandem bar / stem / nav / light arrangement

We’ve just switched over to the Old Man Mountain Manzanita cradle. We’ve used the V1 Salsa Anything cradle forever and we know a bunch of you have too.

While this V2 doesn’t have room to strap a tracker directly on the back like the V1 it does have a load of other neat features.

This is the 9L top loading bag version and there is also a 12l side loader. The 9L is more than enough for 2 bivvy rolls with room to spare.

There are light mounts and gps attachment available and those holes are handily standard spacing for anything else you may want to fit.

The whole set up weighs the same as v1 and is super adjustable plus easy to get everything cinched down tight.
