Having a pretty epic time here in Scotland. The best place ever in the sunshine. Been swimming, walking, painting, cooking and of course yogaing. Feeling like I'm looking through a clean glass right now. Unbound by time and duty. ππ»

As many of you know I love to go swimming on a Tuesday morning with Open Water UK. This morning was phenomenal. Look how everything changed in 30 mins. The light, the temperature. Eerie!

Thought I'd just share some more allotment photos. It's so lovely still. Bursts of colour from autumnal flowers. Still tonnes of cucumbers, courgettes and raspberries. What a joy!

I've got time on my hands as it's raining today. So time to give you all these drawings even though they'll not necessarily be in some kind of order. Back in May, the start of our hot hot Summer. The humidity has been the thing I've struggled with. (Messes with my fringe π). But it was never ending so that was an end to restorative yoga every week. We can't lie down all the time. Yes we need to adjust to climatic change but then we need to be with them. I'm talking in terms of yoga. But after all, the changes in weather are here with us to stay and if not get worse in our lifetime. So this was the practice. A cold shower and back on the mat and this is what I enjoyed.
Take up space and make space is what I called this sequence. Of course, substitute the head down poses for restorative if you're feeling nauseous from heat or humidity. (I've had those days too).
Enjoy π

Another July post. I was back at it after a bit of travel in July so I always need to soften and work on those groins again. If you practice yoga you'll know. The funny things we say. This class was a deliberate conscious attempt at making some space between the trunk and the legs lifting up all those lovely pizzas and the feeling of sitting during travel. Made some delightful janu sirsasana and dandasana paschimottonasanas. Enjoy!

I've 99 problems and teaching online with a cat is 1. Only joking I love it.
So I was so fired up coming back from France in July and this is what happened. Here's the inspiration from (Alan of course) and BKS Iyengar. Just to give a little background, it was hot in the UK for weeks but then you go to France and it's really hot. So you come back and it's not feeling that hot.
"A person suffering from languor has no goal, no path to follow and no enthusiasm. His mind and intellect become dull due to inactivity and the faculties rust. Constant flow keeps the mountain stream pure but water in the ditch stagnates and nothing good can flourish in it. A listless person is like a living co**se where he can concentrate on nothing" BKS Iyengar.
This practice kept the mountain stream flowing there were no stagnant ditches here. Enjoy the sequence, let the energy flow, practice with such willingness, such tapas and rajas, such activity and enthusiasm and let the mountain water flow pure. Enjoy.

I'm having such a good time catching up on the allotment. I hope you're enjoying your break too. I roasted a whole patty pan squash with a veggie Bolognese type sauce. It was delicious!
