Christopher was determined to return to the trade he loved, but the strain on his hand made it impossible. Nicola Simmons arranged specialist vocational support that helped him secure a new, stable role at a technical college.

Christopher's settlement funded a range of specialist prosthetics, from a heavy duty grip for lifting to silicon cosmetic fingers so lifelike they include veins and knuckle detail.
Christopher received excellent care from his NHS surgeons and hand therapists, but when it came to prosthetic support, he found the options extremely limited for someone trying to rebuild their life and return to work. Solicitor Nicola Simmons met him and his heavily pregnant partner during this difficult period, mounting uncertainty, and no clear idea what the future would look like for his family.
After his injury, Christopher relied on his partner Briony for almost everything, from washing to getting changed. Then, just 10 weeks later, their first child was born. While Christopher was still recovering, Briony took on even more at one of the most challenging times in their lives. He says you don't realise how much an injury can change daily life until it happens to you.
Christopher Pawson suffered a finger amputation injury at work in February 2022, after being rushed onto a job using a saw that hadn't been assembled correctly.

This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning brought plenty of cakes, brownies and homemade treats to our Manchester offices.
Two panels of judges had the difficult task of choosing our bake off winners, with Ben Allan’s fifteens taking top spot at our head office and Megan Stevens' banana bread with cinnamon cream won the Northenden office’s competition.
Well done to Petal Peters and Malaika Hussain for the second and third place at South Court and Kay Harris, Deepa Petal and Carly Schofield who took second and joint third place in Northenden.
Thanks to everyone who baked, bought a treat or donated, we raised over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Whether it's an adult or a child affected by a crash, they deserve to be acknowledged and properly compensated. Parents and guardians can usually bring a claim on a child's behalf at any point before they turn 18.

To mark International Day of Sign Languages, colleagues at Express Solicitors took part in a British Sign Language taster session delivered by Deaf Unity .
The session introduced colleagues to BSL and encouraged greater awareness of the barriers deaf people can face in education, employment and the workplace.
Deaf Unity empowers deaf people at key stages in their education and careers, while developing resources, creating opportunities and campaigning for positive change.
Thank you to Deaf Unity for delivering an informative and engaging session.

The Lawyer has announced its UK 200 list and Express Solicitors has moved up four places to number 60!
The Lawyer, in its report, highlighted our growth from a smaller regional practice to “one of the most aggressive consolidators”.
This climb in the list comes off the back of the Express announcing another record year of turnover.
