This is the beginning of my latest adventure as a designer/maker. I handmake items in Sterling Silver, Gold & Platinum www.christinamadeit.com

Everything I make is hand-made from 925 Sterling Silver. I mainly make custom pieces (designed by you, made by me). I also have an Etsy shop www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ChristinaMadeIt showcasing some pieces I have previously made. To keep up with al the latest pieces, and perhaps to get some inspiration for your own custom piece, you can also follow me on Instagram and Twitter

Platinum ring resizing. This wedding ring and engagement ring set needed to go up 4 sizes so a piece needed to be added in. Platinum is one of the more difficult metals to resize. I decided to complete this on the laser welder to hide the join lines as when joining with a flame it’s difficult to blend the solder seam as the colour is different. The welding looks quite messy to start but after the sanding and polishing the end result is neat.

Some more rune stud earrings although this time they are Witcher ones. The customer wanted a non matching set. I’ve had a few requests for these symbols but didn’t realise until now what they were.

I’m attempting to recreate pearls using paint. A customer has some very old sentimental costume jewellery where all the coating has come of the fake pearls and they’ve turned yellow. It’s not really something I’d normally do, but I thought I’d give it a go. I sanded them all down and found a good pearl effect paint and then I’m going to coat it with a gloss spray to make them appear shiny like real pearls. It actually already looks way better, so hopefully from a distance they’ll look good enough.

Feel a bit like I’m on The Repair Shop doing this.

Ring repair, the back of the customers ring had snapped, I rejoined it but I realised it was very thin and likely to snap again over time (see second image and the cut out piece below) so instead I replaced half of the shank (back of the ring) with a new thicker piece. Should last a lifetime now.
