New Government guidance has revealed more details on the ISA changes coming into effect on 6 April 2027.
Previously confirmed changes include:
👇 Cash ISA allowance for under 65s dropping to £12,000.
☝️ Cash ISA allowance for people aged 65 and over remaining at £20,000.
Total ISA allowance remains at £20,000 for everyone.
New guidance issued on 23 June 2026 offers further clarity on the changes that may affect savers from April 2027:
💷 A 22% charge will apply to interest earned on cash held within stocks and shares ISAs or innovative finance ISAs.
This 22% charge doesn’t apply to the balance of the account, only the interest earned.
✈️ Under-65s will no longer be able to transfer from non-cash ISAs (stocks and shares or innovative finance ISAs) into cash ISAs, and moving money into a cash ISA may count towards their annual allowance.
These rules are set to take effect from 6 April 2027.
There are additional changes coming into effect, read more on the GOV.UK website, and ask any questions in the comments.

We love celebrating colleagues who make a difference in their communities.
This Pride Month, we’re shining the spotlight on our Marketing Executive, Zoe, who has been volunteering with Salford Pride over this last year. We caught up with her to hear about her experience and what Pride means to her.
What made you decide to get involved?
“I saw the hard work of all the volunteers at Salford Pride to put on events each year for the LGBTQIA+ community and wanted to be even just a small part of helping bring those spaces to our community.”
What does Pride mean to you?
“Pride is about ensuring the LGBTQIA+ community have safe spaces to celebrate and be their authentic themselves, whilst continuing to champion for equality.”
Thank you Zoe, for sharing your experience and for the time and dedication you give to supporting your local community.
We are incredibly proud of all our colleagues who volunteer their time to support causes that matter to them.
Happy Pride Month!
