A reminder that for the month of August, we are only open in the afternoons: Monday - Friday 2pm - 4:30pm 🥰

The National Student Survey (NSS) results are in, and we're thrilled to say that for the Library-related question ("How well have the Library resources supported your learning?") we received a fantastic score of 94.5%! This lists us as one of the top 15 University Libraries in the results, and 2nd amongst the UK conservatoires!
This result + THE Award + Library survey = one very happy team 🥰

As of next week, we will be moving into our summer timetable. Our opening hours will be:

July:
🎵 Monday - Friday: open 10-1 and 2-4:30
🎵 Saturday and Sunday: closed

August:
🎵 Monday - Friday: closed in the morning, open 2-4:30
🎵 Saturday and Sunday: closed

BREAKING NEWS 📣🚨
As of this week, Outside Borrower accounts for resits (OB Resit) and for people starting a new course in the autumn (OB Temps) no longer require a deposit!
Before this week, we required a deposit to set these accounts up (to cover our backs if things go missing) but now it's freeeeeee 🎉
If your course is ending but you need to borrow stuff over the summer, come and talk to us and we can set up an account for you. Please note ☝ that in order to set up any Outside Borrower account you need to be "in good standing" with the Library - we are unlikely to open an account for you until you have returned all your items and/or settled any debts you have with us 😇

The CHMI will be open 1 - 2:30 this Friday (tomorrow) for the Open Day - come and check us out!!

We've got a brand new binding machine! This one is quieter, easier to manipulate and more versatile. Swipe for some instructions on how to use it 😊

As we're sure some of you have noticed, we have a new member of the Library team!!!
Amanda is a horn player and music librarian originally from Colorado, USA. She received degrees in Horn Performance from St. Olaf College in Minnesota (pictured: Amanda's senior recital) and Temple University in Philadelphia. Recently, she moved to the UK to pursue a Masters in Musicology at the University of Glasgow. She has worked with a variety of orchestras and nonprofits and is thrilled to be in Manchester now with the RNCM! Outside of music, Amanda enjoys hiking, thrifting, mountain biking (pictured: Slickrock in Utah), snowboarding, crafting, and traveling.
We're so excited for Amanda to be joining us as a Library Assistant, working on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays - though not for the next two weeks as she will be busy performing at a music festival in the Orkney Islands. Come and say hi when she gets back!

The results of the Library survey are in and we're super chuffed with the results - 99.5% of respondents said we were excellent/good!! Here are some of our favourite comments 🥰
