Final model of the Blood Angels assault squad painted in a 2nd edition Warhammer 40000 style.

Space Wolves Blood Claw torsos was used for the main body, these came without the knee fins and hip plates to make it look more like the classic space marines.

A custom Blood Angels helmet was added, with the early edition jump pack and a trinket to give it a proper Blood Angels feel.

One of my favourites from the squad, finally complete.

Nothing too out there with this one, pouches, grenades and a trinket added to his belt, and a couple of extra purity seals here and there.

The older Blood Angels Death Company jump pack had quite a few blood stones to paint, and the helmet with the chalice on added in come character.
With the other ones, the knee pad fins and hip armour have been removed to make it look more like an original space marine.

3rd Blood Angels assault marine with a jump pack, armed with a plasma pistol and chainsword.

Lots of yellow on this one with the casin of the plasma pistol, which was copied over from how the original ones were painted.

A couple of extra purity seals, along with Blood Angels trinkets, pistol holsters and pouches were added to fill the model out.

As with the others the knee pad fins along with the hip armour plates were cut and removed to make it look more like a classic space marine, the older style jump pack finishing the look off perfectly.

It’s a close call for my personal favourite of the squad between this one and the sergeant, I was never a fan of the beaky style helmets, but this one massively grew on me.

I’ve not had much practise doing free hand, so took my time with the lightening bolt on the leg, which is a proper early edition look.
I think it took me longer to get the circle an actual circle rather than the lightening bolt itself!

You’ll see with the previous sergeant that this and the whole squad, I’ve removed the hip armour plates, and the knee pad thins to make them look more like original space marines.
You’ll also notice that the hands don’t have the flaired armour either.

This and the others are a mix of Black Templar, Space Wolves and normal Intercessor kits to give them some personality.

Finally the jump pack itself is an early edition plastic one, the squad has a mix of vanguard veteran and Death Company jump packs.
