Interesting one.
Sarrians track had changed considerably since George last rode it and until George's plans to attend the the Sarrians World Cup (6-7 June) were thwarted by the mechanics' exams schedule clashing, he had thought that was where he would get the track dialled..... Well? from before we left England, he felt like he had a head full of wet cement because of a head cold and he failed to jump the pro set on the 45 mins Thurs practice.
Due to the heat, the Friday practice was cancellled. George was considering a total abandonment, but decided, today, to do the 15 mins warm up; In which he did crack the pro; 1 sketchy, 1 better; good enough to give his moto a go though. In the event, he fumbled the pro at speed and same again in the LCQ, approached too fast to line up for the pro nicely. 2 very good 1st straights though.
Obviously he was in need of the cancelled Friday practice at the very least!
Not injured, just ill. He is now looking forward to Cardiff National and National Championship 3-5 July

Gosport Highlights by BMX Race Hub are posted... catch George being interviewed by host John Twitchen (because 4 out of 6 elite wins is good going. ) https://www.facebook.com/share/p/196jMetsvN/

Admittedly, George maybe should have gone to Papendaal World Cup but Payback beckoned him. And, hey, It's Eurochamps next week in Sarrians. Whoop! Whoop! Let's see if he can put something together there. We fly out tomorrow, missing the extra practices put on this week (& he and I are tenting in the heatwave 😱). He is not making it easy for himself! but myself (Rose L Davies/agent/mum), LCC BMX race team, Nuneaton BMX Club (and those reading this) will have his back and what will be, will be.

George, a little off the pace in his two 1/8ths, but not terrible, for the first time at a new (& big) track with only 3 laps of laps of practice and a warm up sesh. No real excuses. Mum (Rose) and he, had a good 'ol experience overall; seeing Versailles, the Loire and Orléans, featuring the world-renowned FRAC Centre-Val de Loire, home to one of the world's most important collections of experimental and utopian architecture. We also found out about St Mesmin (not very saintly it seems as he cut off his sister's head, on the orders of their dad. Guess why...? Because she became a... Christian! and Jean D'arc (Devout Catholic, made a Patron Saint for fighting the English off. Then burned at stake for heresy. Mmmm.
Some interesting food encounters (chicory, to die for and a lousy steak) and a way too fast, too furious, drive back in his 'Bimmer', to lovely Leicestershire today. Good times are a-rollin'. We are the lucky ones, for sure.
