Daniel is our third musician performing at our Young Musicians Showcase for Classical Café this Sun 4th Oct! 🎹✨

Daniel has been playing piano for around 7 years and has passed his Grade 5 ABRSM, taking lessons with Angela Hannaford at Saltburn School Of Music.

He enjoys music written by John Williams, Queen and Lewis Capaldi and recently Chopin and Mozart have been part of his piano playing journey.

Concert runs 3-4pm at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Tickets £8, free for under 16s (link in comments).

Jack is our next musician performing at our Young Musicians Showcase at Classical Cafe this Sunday 4th Oct! 🎹🎵

Jack has a deep love of classical music and a particular passion for the piano, which he began learning at the age of four.

At the 2025 Saltburn Music Festival, Jack won the Advanced Young Musician violin category, Grade 6 Piano category and the Judges’ Choice Award. Alongside the violin and piano, Jack is also learning the erhu, a traditional Chinese string instrument.

“Music is a great way to relax and unwind after a hard day at school. I'm lucky that, as a multi-instrumentalist, I have such a wide and varied repertoire open to me!”

Concert runs 3-4pm at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

Introducing Thomas, who will be playing cello at our Classical Café: Young Musicians Showcase this Sunday 4th Oct! 🎻✨

Thomas has been learning the cello for nearly 5 years, and is part of the Yarm School Orchestra, Tees Valley Youth Orchestra and National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain.

Thomas said:
“I enjoy the variety of pieces that there are to listen to and to play, of all genres. I especially enjoy playing fast dynamic cello pieces which are exciting in character. I have recently enjoyed learning the Saint-Saëns first cello concerto which has exciting runs of notes and conveys a lot of emotion.”

The concert runs 3-4pm, at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

Something to brighten your Sunday! ☀️

Middlesbrough Open Orchestra were visited by fantastic musicians Brendan and Hannabiell this week. Together they played a song from Anthony Lo Giudice Dance’s ‘The Guest’ and their all time favourite - Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’. 🎻🎵

The orchestra is a partnership with Priory Woods School, Beverley School, Ben Hopkinson Music Tuition, supported by Youth Music, Open Up Music, Tees Valley Music Education Hub, Middlesbrough Council and Middlesbrough Town Hall .

Today Middlesbrough Open Orchestra were joined by musicians Brendan Murphy and Hannabiell Sanders for an exciting workshop! 🎻🪊✨

The orchestra learnt a song from the soundtrack of 'The Guest', a show by Anthony Lo Giudice Dance, which is being performed at ARC Stockton Arts Centre next week.

They also shared one of their favourite songs 'One More Time' by Daft Punk.

The orchestra is a partnership between Musinc, Beverley School Community, Priory Woods School and Arts College, Ben Hopkinson Music Tuition, supported by Youth Music, Open Up Music, Tees Valley Music Hub, Middlesbrough Council and Middlesbrough Town Hall.

🎧 Visit stalls from local providers & see equipment demos

The careers panel will be hosted by Shakk, BBC Introducing presenter and musician, with panellists:
- Sarah Wilson, Gig Promoter/Events Manager/Community Musician
- Jodie Nicholson - Singer-songwriter/Creative Practitioner
- Ian Allcock (EnA Photography) - Gig Photographer

Open to secondary school groups and home educating families.
The event will include BSl interpretation.

Ideas for an exciting music event are starting to take shape after the Young Producers' third session this term! 🎤🎸✨

Run in partnership with Tees Music Alliance, the group's final event will take place at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton in March 2027.

Young Producers is a free group at Middlesbrough Town Hall, for 15-21s interested in developing experience in the music and events sector with guidance from industry experts.

The Lost Orchestra is looking for musicians 🎶🎻✨

If you know someone aged 16-25, identifying as d/Deaf, Disabled or neurodivergent, who might enjoy being part of our ensemble - get in touch!

All musical instruments and abilities welcome.

Free to join, Thursday evenings (weekly during term time) at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

Sound Practice - Soundabout 18/09/2026

Music charity Soundabout is offering training that provides a practical pathway for anyone looking to develop their expertise in facilitating accessible, interactive, and creative music making opportunities alongside Learning Disabled people with complex support needs.

Sound Practice runs from Sep 2026 - July 2027.
Some sessions are available online. Cost: £200/module, £150 discounted rate.
