This National Badger Day we want to highlight the incredible work of Operation Brockwatch, a joint initiative between the USPCA and Northern Ireland Badger Group.๐Ÿฆก

Launched in 2019, Operation Brockwatch is a crime prevention strategy which aims to protect badgers in their natural habit, as sadly they are far too often subjected to attacks of badger baiting.

Operation Brockwatch currently protects 35 badger setts across NI from criminal gangs thanks to the work of our special investigations team and twenty-one incredible volunteers, whose knowledge and skills are critical to the success of this project.

We are not a government funded organisation which is why this National Badger Day we are asking for your help to support this important operation. With more setts being identified, our team are in need of vital camera equipment to help us continue to monitor and deter further attacks.

Without your support, it wouldnโ€™t be possible to do the important work we do.๐Ÿ’™

It was so lovely to meet so many wonderful supporters and, of course, adorable doggy friends who joined us at our Paws in the Park event at Stormont Estate! ๐Ÿถ

Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and walked with us to help raise vital funds so we can continue to provide essential services for animals in need throughout Northern Ireland. ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ•

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping out on the day and to Naturo Natural Pet Food for providing each of our four-legged friends with a lovely goodie bag!

We also want to thank all the generous local businesses; We Have It Wrapped Up, SD Bells, SPAR Rosepark and Tesco Superstore Castlereagh Road for supporting the USPCA and donating fantastic prizes for the raffle that took place on the day!

A big shout out also to Augieโ€™s Coffee for joining us and bringing along your lovely drinks and treats!

We canโ€™t wait to do it all again at our next Paws in the Park event in Pomeroy Park and hope to see you all there!๐Ÿพ

CHEETO ๐Ÿงก

Cheeto was admitted into our care, along with his sibling, when they were only little kittens after they were found abandoned suffering from a bad case of cat flu.

It took some time for Cheeto to settle into cattery life, as he was initially quite shy and nervous. However, after several months within our care, he has started to come out of his shell to show our team what an affectionate boy he is!๐Ÿฅฐ

Cheeto is a playful and curious boy who enjoys spending time with our team and playing with his favourite toys.

He can at times be wary of loud noises and new people, so his new family will need to understand he may take a little time to settle into his new home.

Cheeto would be best suited with a family who have experience with cats and would prefer to live in a home with children over the age of 10 years old.

Cheeto will need to be an indoor-only car as due to suffering from cat flu at a young age he has chronic respiratory damage, however this does not hold him back and he lives a normal life being a typical happy kitten who is full of energy!๐Ÿฑ

If you can give this sweet boy the loving home he is waiting for, check out his profile ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://buff.ly/Ro0eGXK
