Weโd like to say a massive thank you to MKM, and especially Lee Spalding, for their incredible generosity in providing the boards and plywood for our boxing ring refurbishment at Mansfield School of Boxing.
The maintenance of our boxing ring ensures it remains a safe and positive space for the young people and wider community who use it. ๐ฅ
Weโd also like to thank Lindleys Autocentres for coordinating the transport through Enterprise, making the delivery possible, and a special shout-out to Jamie from Enterprise, who not only helped deliver the materials but also got stuck in to help move the heavy boards and plywood into the boxing area!

Some people just need someone to see their potential and give them an opportunity. ๐ฅ
Ebrima has been through more than most young people should have to face, including his family recently losing their home in a fire in St Annโs. Through it all, we have been supporting him at Switch Up to rebuild, get back into employment and keep moving forward.
One of Ebrimaโs real passions is filmmaking, and over recent months the incredible Shane Meadows has taken him under his wing, sharing advice, encouragement and belief in his talent.
After Ebrima recently created his own short film, Shane has now helped him take another step forward by loaning him a Blackmagic camera so he can continue developing his craft.
A massive thank you to Shane and Blackmagic Design๏ฟผ for believing in a young man with huge potential.
This is what opportunity can look like.

Switch Up CEO Dr Marcellus Baz BEM is joined by Darren Fletcher, TNT Sports commentator and long-standing Switch Up Patron, for a conversation covering his Nottingham upbringing, how he began his career in broadcasting and the journey that has taken him to the highest levels of sports media.
The conversation also turns to something particularly important to Switch Up: our plans to build a new community hub and the opportunities that a dedicated space could create for young people, families and the wider community.

Summer at Switch Up XP Youth Club โ๏ธ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง
Games, crafts, art, boxing, sport, dancing, music - and plenty of laughs along the way.
Our XP Youth Club is all about giving young people in our community a safe, positive space to spend their time, learn new skills, try new things, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun.
By creating positive environments and strong relationships, we can help young people step away from negative influences and towards positive role models, new experiences and friendships that can make a real difference.
A huge thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport for supporting XP and helping us create these opportunities for young people in our community. ๐
