We're proud to support the charity behind that number, and the lifeboat crews ready to launch 24/7, 365 days a year, right around the UK and Ireland.

Most of those crew members are volunteers. People with day jobs and families, who drop everything – mid-shift, mid-meal, mid-sleep – and head out into the conditions the rest of us are told to stay away from.

And it's not only rescues. RNLI lifeguards keep watch over hundreds of beaches every summer. Their safety teams work all year round to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.
