Oldham Ladies RUFC

🏉❤️ WHERE I WENT • WHAT I WORE • WHAT I ATE ❤️🏉

Well… this one’s pretty easy! 😂

📍 Where I went: Oldham Rugby Union
👕 What I wore: Obviously the Oldham colours ❤️💙
🍽️ What I ate: Judging by that last picture… GRASS! 🌱🤣

Just another glamorous day in the life of an Oldham Ladies rugby player! 😂🏉

Mud, tackles, laughs and apparently a bit of pitch for dinner! 💪😂

❤️💙 OLDHAM LADIES — MORE THAN A TEAM, WE’RE A FAMILY 💙❤️

🏉📸 THE ART OF CROPPING… OLDHAM LADIES EDITION! 😂

They say a picture paints a thousand words… but sometimes it’s the bit you crop out that tells the best story! 🤣🤣

Rugby is all about the tackles, determination, teamwork and skill… but our faces clearly didn’t get the memo! 😂 From questionable expressions to perfectly timed photobombs, these pictures are absolute GOLD. 🤦‍♀️😂

This is why we love grassroots rugby — muddy knees, big tackles, brilliant teammates and plenty of moments to laugh about afterwards. ❤️💙

Never delete the outtakes… they’re usually better than the action shots! 😂🏉📸

🏉❤️💙 WOMEN BELONG IN SPORT! 💙❤️🏉

And we couldn’t agree more! 🙌

Women’s rugby is growing, and we’re incredibly proud to be part of a sport where strength, determination, teamwork and passion have no gender. 💪

Whether you’re a seasoned player, completely new to rugby, or just curious about giving it a go — there’s a place for you here. 🏉

No matter your shape, size, age or experience… you belong. ❤️

Come and be part of the team, make new friends, have a laugh and discover what women’s rugby is all about!

Women belong in sport. Women belong in rugby. Women belong at Oldham. 🔵🔴

🏉💙❤️

🚨🏉 STOP SCROLLING… IT’S TRAINING DAY! 🏉🚨

🏉❤️ MEET THE MANAGER – DAWN POLLITT ❤️🏉

Next up in our Meet the Team series is the woman trying to keep this crazy bunch organised… Ladies Team Manager, Dawn Pollitt🙋‍♀️😂

Dawn took on the manager role last season and has certainly put her stamp on things. From sorting fixtures and chasing players, to organising socials, recruitment and everything else that goes on behind the scenes — there’s never a dull moment!

She might not pull on the boots, but you’ll definitely hear her from the sidelines (whether the referee wants to or not 👀😂).

💅 Loves her long nails

🌈 Changes her hair colour more often than some players change positions

🏉 Married to ladies coach Brent— so there really is no escaping rugby!

❤️ Her daughter Ellie is also part of the Oldham Ladies team, making it a proper family affair!

🍻 And if Dawn goes missing… check the bar first!

Being part of Oldham Ladies means even more when you get to share it with your family, and Dawn couldn’t be prouder to watch Ellie take to the pitch alongside the rest of the girls. ❤️

Behind all the organising, chasing and sideline shouting, Dawn is incredibly proud of how far the team has come and loves watching this rugby family continue to grow.

❤️🤍 Oldham isn’t just a team… we’re a family — quite literally in Dawn’s case! 😂🏉

🏉 MEET THE COACHING TEAM – CALLUM HUGHES 🏉

Next up in our Oldham Ladies coaching team is the brilliant Callum Hughes! ❤️🤍

Callum is certainly no stranger to Oldham Rugby. Having previously pulled on the Oldham shirt himself, he went on to discover a love for refereeing and is now a Level 8 referee. Thankfully for us, he’s also brought all that rugby knowledge back to the club as part of our Ladies coaching team! 💪🏉

Callum brings plenty of enthusiasm, experience and a different perspective to training — although we’re still not sure whether having a referee as a coach means we get away with more or less! 😂👀

Away from rugby, Callum loves running and music, has been skiing in Austria and Italy, but whatever you do… don’t offer him mushrooms or put a horror film on! 🍄🚫🎬😱

We’re lucky to have Callum as part of the Oldham Ladies family and can’t wait to see what he brings to the team this season.

Because at Oldham, we’re not just a team… we’re a family. ❤️🤍🏉

🏉 MEET THE COACHING TEAM – PETE COOPER 🏉

Next up in our Oldham Ladies coaching team is Pete Cooper – our kicking coach! ❤️🤍

Pete has plenty of rugby experience behind him and is always on hand to help the ladies improve their kicking skills, technique and confidence on the pitch.

But rugby isn’t Pete’s only passion — away from the club, he also runs a gun club, so whether it’s kicking goals or hitting targets, Pete certainly likes to keep his eye on the prize! 🎯😂

And if that wasn’t enough, Pete recently came out of a 25-year rugby retirement for a very special reason — to pull on his boots one more time and play alongside his good friend Brent Pollitt in Brent’s final ever game. 🥹🏉

After 25 years away from playing, that’s what you call friendship and commitment! ❤️

We’re lucky to have Pete as part of the Oldham Ladies family, passing on his knowledge, experience and plenty of laughs along the way.

❤️🤍 More than a team, we’re a family. ❤️🤍
