Dodge's DNA 🧬

So, you may all remember the six dogs that were brought to our kennels having been "found" at the roadside. There were two female Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and four little mixed boys, we were fairly confident one of the girls was Mum but we couldn't justify the cost of a DNA test.

Lucky for us, Dodge's lovely parents got his and have kindly shared them with us. Picture one is a recent photo of Dodge and his pup cup, picture 2 a full body image and picture 3 is the DNA profile. Seems we weren't wrong about the girls being mother but what a wee mix!

DNA testing is great for understanding behaviours of mixed breed dogs and potentially for understanding any breed specific health matters.

We really enjoyed our last trip up to Denhead, Coupar Angus.

If you're free next Saturday pop in for a nosey, it'll cost nothing but the fuel to get there!

The farmstand has some gorgeous fresh local produce so you can buy some healthy local veggies or meats and support a small business too!

The dog show promises to show some wonderful breeds of dogs.

And just down the road a bit the park at Coupar Angus is great fun for kids too!

Back in March two wee dogs were found abandoned near Amulree both covered in matts and filthy, we named them Isla and Ivan but they were rehomed shortly after arriving to a lovely couple who called them Ellie and Cooper and look how well they're doing!!

Ellie was also dangerously underweight when they arrived, swipe to the end to see her transformation

We can't thank Moira and Derek enough for taking such good care of such sweet and deserving dogs! ❤️

We're organising a fire walk to raise funds, it'll be the evening of Friday 6th November, a critical time when our energy bills sky rocket with the cost of electricity for heating, lights and laundry.

Lindores Abbey Distillery in Newburgh are organising this event for us, we just need to get some more recruits to join in the adventure. All participants will have to pay a participation fee to the distillery and we'd love if each participant would then raise a minimum sponsorship each of £100.00 using our Just Giving campaign or indeed the participants preferred collection method.

Kennel Manager Jo is going to do it and is hoping to recruit a few additional staff members and volunteers. Could you join us?

Coffee Morning 17/10/26 - Newburgh

We are thrilled to have been nominated as joint beneficiary charity with Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA at Irene's upcoming coffee morning in Newburgh.

PADS Chair Dr Alison Kennedy will be representing us and has many tales to tell about all the wonderful dogs we've had through the doors.
