๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ Restart a Heart Day 2026 โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Today, young people at Perth Grammar School joined thousands across Scotland in taking part in Restart a Heart Live 2026, learning vital CPR and defibrillator awareness skills that could one day help save a life.

Through this fantastic initiative from Save A Life For Scotland our pupils gained the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency and make a real difference when every second counts.

A huge thank you to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for coming along and supporting the event, sharing their expertise and helping inspire the next generation of lifesavers.

At Perth Grammar School, we are committed to ensuring Every Learner Thriving: Inspired, Included and Ready for Tomorrow, and today's experience has equipped our young people with skills that could help save lives in our communities.

This week, Head Girl Maddison and Head Boy Owen shared exciting news with pupils during House Assemblies about the launch of a new Pupil Parliament, which will begin in Term 2.

The Pupil Parliament will meet every 3 to 4 weeks and will include one representative from every House Time class, alongside members of the Pupil Leadership Team. Together, they will discuss ideas, gather feedback from their peers and work collaboratively to help shape improvements across the school.

Maddison and Owen said:
"Itโ€™s really exciting to be creating the Pupil Parliament at Perth Grammar School next term. Weโ€™re really looking forward to hearing everyoneโ€™s ideas and working together to make improvements at the school through pupil voiceโ€

The new Pupil Parliament reflects Perth Grammar School's vision of Every Learner Thriving: Inspired, Included and Ready for Tomorrow by creating meaningful opportunities for young people to influence decisions, develop leadership skills and help shape the future of their school community.

The initiative also supports the school's commitment as a Rights Respecting School, particularly Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which states that children and young people have the right to express their views and have those views taken seriously. Through the Pupil Parliament, every House Time class will have a voice, helping to ensure that all pupils feel heard, valued and included.

We look forward to seeing pupils from across Perth Grammar School come together to share ideas, drive positive change and help make our school the very best it can be.

๐Ÿšฒโšก Thinking about buying an e-bike, e-scooter or off-road bike? Read this first.

Police Scotland Tayside is reminding parents and carers to check the legal requirements before purchasing these vehicles for children and young people. Some e-motorbikes and e-scooters cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements, parks or other public spaces, and illegal or modified vehicles can lead to safety risks, anti-social behaviour concerns, police involvement and seizure of the vehicle.

Before you buy, take time to understand where the vehicle can be used, whether it is legal, and how to keep young riders safe. Please speak with your child about responsible use and help them make informed choices.

๐ŸŒฟโ™ป๏ธ This morning, Mr Reid, Headteacher, joined a group of our young people in North Muirton for a community litter pick. Their efforts helped to improve the local environment while demonstrating one of Perth Grammar Schoolโ€™s core values, Respect; respect for our community, our environment and the people who share these spaces with us.

By taking pride in where we live and learn, our pupils are putting the principles of the Keep Scotland Beautiful campaign into action, showing that small actions can make a big difference.
