π Education
Not all stress looks dramatic.
Many overwhelmed dogs appear calm on the surface.
They may be coping silently through:
β’ Increased vigilance
β’ Difficulty settling
β’ Restlessness
β’ Following their owner constantly
Learning to spot early signs can help us support dogs before they reach their limit.
π Have you noticed subtle signs of stress in your dog?

πΏ Owner Support
As the weather becomes cooler, many dogs naturally need a little more rest.
Sensitive dogs often find seasonal changes surprisingly tiring.
If your dog seems quieter, slower, or more needy than usual, try not to rush to "fix" it.
Sometimes what they need most is space to adjust.
π What helps your dog feel settled during seasonal changes?

β¨ This Week's Training Tip
Practice "doing nothing."
Choose a quiet moment during the day and sit with your dog for a few minutes without asking them to do anything.
No training.
No toys.
No expectations.
Simply allow them to rest, observe, sniff, or settle in whatever way feels comfortable.
Many sensitive dogs benefit from opportunities to decompress without pressure.
Try it this week and notice how your dog responds.
π If your dog finds it difficult to switch off or settle, there may be underlying stress or overwhelm affecting their ability to relax.
π© Message me if you'd like support understanding what your dog needs to feel calmer and more secure.
Birthday adventures await! π
We're off to Devon for a few days to celebrate our birthdays and enjoy a little change of scenery.
I'm looking forward to coastal walks, good coffee, fresh air, and some much-needed downtime.
If you're spending time outdoors with your dog this weekend, I'd love to see your photos in the comments.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. πΎππ

β€οΈ Connection & Engagement
Sometimes our dogs remind us to slow down.
To notice the sunshine.
To stop and sniff.
To appreciate the simple things.
In a world that often feels busy and overwhelming, dogs have a wonderful way of bringing us back to the present moment.
Those quiet moments of connection matter more than we might realise.
π What's one thing your dog does that helps you slow down?

Before learning can happen, dogs often need:
β’ Safety β’ Predictability β’ Rest β’ Emotional balance
Training works best when these foundations are already in place.
Everything starts with helping dogs feel safe enough to learn.
π Which foundation does your dog need most right now?

Going slowly is not failing.
Many sensitive dogs need less pressure, not more.
Sometimes progress begins when we allow dogs to move at a pace that feels safe.
Trust grows slowly.
And that's okay.

This week's gentle training tip:
β¨ Reward Voluntary Check-Ins
On your next walk, notice every time your dog looks at you naturally.
No cue.
No command.
Simply acknowledge the moment with a treat.
Connection is often built in these tiny interactions.
Try it this week and see what changes.
π If focus, confidence, or calm feels difficult right now, personalised support can make a huge difference.

Some victories aren't obvious.
A deeper breath.
A quicker recovery.
A softer body.
A moment of curiosity.
These are often the signs that a dog is beginning to feel safer.
Small wins matter.
π Take a moment to celebrate one win from this week.
