Happy Friday!

Spent the morning looking at products at ScrewFix Live! Had a chat to the guys at the Johnstone’s stand about their paint, stocked up with some Toupret products, tested out a Purdy paint brush and loads of other interesting stands.

Always love trying out new products!

“It’s like we’ve moved into a new home!” the 10-year-old son of my client.

That’s exactly the reaction you want after a job like this.

Before any paint touched the walls, there was plenty of prep to do: repairing cracks, filling popped plasterboard screws and getting the surfaces back to a smooth finish.

A lot of the work happens before the first coat of paint, but it makes all the difference to the final result.

Recently I had the pleasure of giving my nephew Arthur’s bedroom a complete makeover as his 13th birthday present.

We swapped the cream walls for ‘Runaway’ Matt by Crown - a rich blue that completely transforms the room. It took plenty of prep and three coats to get that perfect finish, but it was definitely worth it.

Arthur wasn’t just supervising either… he got stuck in helping with the sanding, filling and even rolled on the first coat of colour!

His Mum also took the opportunity to have the ceilings and woodwork freshened up at the same time, giving the whole room a crisp, finished look.

This room needed a refresh, with cracked and worn paintwork, so we got to work making it shine like new, fixing all the cracks and painting the whole room. Tiles were also grouted to finish the repairs.

From brick to smooth plaster.
The original plaster had failed due to a roof leak. The old plaster was removed and left to dry after the roof was fixed.
Then sand a cement render, followed by gypsum top coat for a perfect finish.
Access was difficult due to being inside a cupboard, but the job was carefully completed!
