Got a visit from the owner of this last of its kind Kit car yesterday.
MG based with a Rover V8 up front.
I do love a kit car.
This one is booked in with us in September.

The completed Hilux, plenty of product on to protect where the factory didn't.
Using plenty of products it also gets the full 5 year guarantee.

Finishing off this 2022 Toyota Hilux which on the whole is in great condition.
It also shows at the same time how little protection is on these from the factory.
Majority of the underneath doesn't even have a top coat of paint!!

Here's a little insight of what we do to each vehicle when they come in.
*First of all any plastic under trays or arch liners are removed as these tend to trap road first and water.
*The vehicle is then jacked up for a thorough jet wash to remove road dirt and salt and chip off any loose rust.
*After 24 hours drying we set to work with various grinders/wire wheels/needle gun and scrapers to get rid of as much rust as we can.
*We then use Bilt Hamber rust converter on the bare metal parts and any hard to reach places.
*The vehicle is then masked to protect the paintwork. At this point we mask the exhaust/brakes and anything else that doesn't need coating.
*Then two coats of Zinc primer are applied.
*All running gear/cavities/box sections/sills etc are then coated or injected with Dinitrol cavity wax.
*Next is two coats of good quality Shutz to seal everything in.
*Plastic arch liners and under trays are replaced before unmasking everything.
*If chosen the top of the vehicle is then treated by spraying and injecting wax into door panels/bonnet/tailgate etc

Treatment takes between 5-7 days.
If it needs welding we can deal with that but at extra cost.

As you can see it's a thorough job and I always take photos as I work so you get a visual catalogue of the work you have received.

I also give a up to a 5 year guarantee depending on the condition and vehicle.

A lovely run out yesterday evening to Thorne's Park in Wakefield for the car show.
Great chilled out atmosphere.

Back to it today and a damn sight more civilized than last weeks temperature.

This Mitsubishi L200 was only 8 years old but has had a hard life on a farm.
It had previously just had Dinitrol sprayed over rust that was already there.
It's was cleaned back to good metal and treated up to a much better condition.

Guess the year of this vehicle 😮
