So todays test day was very useful.
A lot learned today and all 3 drivers were constantly improving.

Driver improvement day at Donington Park for H yesterday. Huge thanks to. Brandon McCaughan and Shaws Motorsport & FFI Components for combining to provide a full day to help Harrison Morrow learn new skills and refine his technique. A massive thanks to GG2 for putting this tigether too.
The weather was perfect, right on script too, giving H both dry and wet condition to learn in.
This was the first formal day of intense car coaching Harrison had ever enjoyed and he made the most of it.
Brandon was superb and H was buzzing afterwards at the new skills and pace he had unlocked.
Those that have worked with H in karting know how he listens and how hard he works to push to be better. No different in cars.
A hugely productive day.

Page Super Classic Pre '99 Formula Ford 1600 Championship . The single seaters the support act to the 24hour BRSCC 2CV race and a SuperSport Endurance race.

Friday practice goal was really to get H used to the track as while he had raced the much longer 300 track, he had no experience of the shorter 200.
As ever the Shaws Motorsport Reynard was spot on and ready to go. H happy with his first session, although a cracked brake disc following the track action was not part of the plan. Hazel and Sara headed to get spares, and H was given the opportunity to test the RF81. He really enjoyed the car and set some good solid times. But it was back to work on the Reynard for the afternoon sessions. Finding more and more time as the day went on.

H was still looking at data and onboard as we left him for the hotel, H focused on getting the very most from himself.
Race day and the weather looked a bit more unsettled.
TQ was on a very fast drying Damp track and H pushed hard from the off, trading fastest times with Alex Ames all through the session. H pulling out a fantastic Pole lap on his last lap.

Pole secured H focused on getting a good start, He did, but Alex Ames got a cracking start and so the race 1 pattern was set, H pushing Alex hard round the track, the pair of them separated by less than 2 tenths and pulling a big gap on 3rd place held by Tom Hawkins. A couple of laps from the end, Alex had a mechanical issue and fell back, H took immediate advantage and secured the win by 4secs. Winning the Henry Rilett Trophy and also setting the fastest lap too.
Race 2 followed and H was fired up, yet again Alex got the Jump, and H had to settle for 2nd. Now there was pressure from Leon Frost in 3rd on the top two, but as their pace increased, Leon fell back, having had the best of his tyres early on. H swopped past Alex on one lap, only for Alex to do that back to him the Next. H went outside / inside, Alex used a cunning head and his pace to hold H back. Mindful of the championship, H refused to look at too higher risk moves and kept the pressure on right to the end, but Alex would not be denied his win. The two finishing some 7 seconds up the road.

In terms of the championship, as Alex was a guest driver and did not score points, it meant that H carried a clean sweep of results from the weekend. The impact of this was compounded by the fact that the incumbent double champion Tom sadly retired in race 2. H is now very close to becoming the Overall champion. A National championship was beyond our dreams this year, yet H has put himself right in the frame.

This was a performance by H that really did put a marker down. He used his head, listened to the team and Dave and delivered out on track. the maturity he is now showing is really impressive and I feel a testament to all the time H has spent with older racers, listening and taking heed of their advice.

A massive thank you to all at Shaws, as the car this year has been amazing. Thank you also to Engine builder B Simms Engineering Ltd for all the support this year too along with FFI Components who have suppiled top engine parts.

The season does not stop here, 4 more events, 4 more chances to learn and for H to develop further.

Next up is some testing and for H to get some formal coaching to help bring out more of that potential.

As we build up to the race report from Saturday and the Super Classic Pre '99 Formula Ford 1600 Championship , I wanted to just take a moment to document part of the test day from Friday.
H had an issue in the Reynard, so was kindly given the opportunity by the Shaws Motorsport team and Graham Payne to take the Senna Van Dieman RF 81 for a session.
This was the first Van Dieman H had driven.
The car is a stunning build, it really is, it wanted for nothing during a huge rebuild.
H went out and was imediately on it.
He really enjoyed the chassis and set some cracking times.
20 minutes of real fun and H proved that he can be right at the sharp end in which ever Formula Ford he jumps into.

Focus now turns back to Snetterton .

BRSCC are running the 24 hour 2CVs and PBS Brakes Enduro series on the same bill too.

Latest round of the United Formula Ford championship at Snetterton rounding out a very busy 3 weeks for Harrison Morrow behind the wheel.

It was fabtastic to have Grace Bates racing alongside Harrison. and watching how the two helped each other as fantastic.

Despite no prior practice in a Single seater around the 300 Track, H clocked a competitive time in the brief morning Practice and was happy with the balance on the car.

However, TQ was less than ideal with H breaking down twice with an electrical issue and Grace doing oh so well to hold the car when a suspension link broke. It was as Sara said, all hands-on deck to make sure both cars were out and ready for race 1.

After the disrupted TQ, H was out of position starting 13th. H Made some progress, but the race was soon under safety car after a crash early on Lap one. After it resumed H was then in a big long battle for 6th place, he made progress, but then was compromised when another car spun, finishing a hard-fought 9th. It was clear to see that the older cars were just not as quick vs the new chassis around this track. The 1980s designed Reynard, just not having the sheer grip of the new cars. Despite this H was still able to fight and battle.

Race 2 saw H start dead last and after a good first lap H was up to 11th, However the next car down the road had gapped him by over 3 seconds, H kept pushing to try and close on Cody up the road, but just as he got close the race was red flagged due to poor Gavin losing a wheel. I think the pace H had would have certainly made Cody have to work hard over the last 4 minutes or so, but alas we will never know.

Either way it was further great points in the championship and H can reflect on 3 very good weeks of driving. While all the results may not have been as we wanted, his level behind the wheel has risen considerably. Thanks to the support of Shaws Motorsport for a wonderful day.
Valarie was tammed eventually by Grace after being super naughty.

However we can share the championship updates from the United Formula Ford after yesterdays races Snetterton .
This championship was never the focus. It was really to start with a test opportunity for the then new Reynard from Shaws Motorsport .
However we had such fun and H so enjoyed the challenge of taking a car designed in the 1980s and fighting modern cars.
We signed up for as many events as we could make, saving money by using only old tyres with no testing. Unless it was on the day.
No expectations at all, however its been damn amazing.
To run some of the top uk FF1600 talent so close has been simply fantastic.

Sadly we miss the next two rounds but we will be there for the season finale.
