Irish dance parents, if "kick your bum" keeps coming up in your dancer's classes, this one's for you 👇

You'll know the moment. The last step, the music flying, and their foot gets nowhere near their bum 🙈

More effort won't fix it, because the reason is different for every dancer. For one it's a tight hip. For another it's the thigh, the lower back, or the strength to pull the heel up fast.

That's why our very first Kick Your Bum 5 Day Challenge, starting tomorrow inside the Gold Club 🔥, looks into a different possible reason each day:

Day 1: Hip flexor flexibility
Day 2: Quad flexibility
Day 3: Back flexibility and mobility
Day 4: Front ankle length
Day 5: Hamstring strength

Not every day will be your dancer's answer, and that's how it's meant to work. By the end of the week they'll know their own What, Why and How: the exact reason their foot isn't reaching, and what to do about it.

A new video is released at 6am UK time each day, and your dancer follows along whenever suits your family's week. There are no live calls and no set times to be online.

Everyone who completes all 5 days and uploads their Day 1 and Day 5 pictures is entered to win a £50 Nike voucher 👟

But the real prize is watching them dance with their heel finally reaching their bum, and that correction disappearing from their teacher's notes 💚

Comment 🏅 and we'll send you the link to join the Gold Club, with the Kick Your Bum Challenge included.

For the parents trying to fit one more thing into October 💚

Picture the bedroom floor at quarter past seven. Red mat rolled out, phone propped against the wardrobe, and your dancer stretching along with me for 15 minutes before school. No driving anywhere. No extra class to squeeze in after homework.

That's what the Gold Club timetable is built for. Short, live classes that fit around school and dance, each one aimed at something they're being corrected on: toe height, kick height, kick speed, and the mindset to walk on stage feeling ready. Swipe through for the full October week.

The week of 5th October is when it all comes together. Goal Setting with Annabelle on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th, the 5 Day Kick Your Bum Challenge from Monday 5th to Friday 9th, and my Correction Clinic on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th.

I built the thing I wish I'd had as a dancer, and I built it so parents could understand it too.

Your dancer's first month is £19. Comment 🏅 below and I'll send you the link.

The first major of the season is coming and the lead-up matters just as much as the day itself. 🏆

What you do at home in the days and weeks before, as a parent AND as a dancer, can make the difference between walking on frazzled and walking on ready.

On this week’s Mindset Matters, Annabelle shares exactly what she did before every major she danced, and, as a qualified mindset coach, what she now tells every Irish dance family she works with.

The thing parents need to STOP doing (it comes from a good place 😅)

The simple tool she used the night before every big competition

And the one conversation that helps more than any last-minute correction

Listen to find out what you should be doing as a parent and as a dancer in the lead-up to your first major, so you both walk in calm, collected and confident. 💚

I asked my team to describe me in 3 words. I'd slightly regretted it by about 5pm 🙃

Determined. Passionate. Driven. Ambitious. Optimistic. Forward-thinking. Fast-paced, with quite a lot of hahahas after it.

Annabelle's mum went in with crazy, which feels fair enough.

Reading them all back though, I noticed something worth saying.

Every one of those words is HOW I am. Not one of them is WHY I do this.

So for any parent who's wondering who's actually on the other side of the screen with your dancer, here's mine. The same What, Why and How I ask your dancer for.

My What is helping Irish dancers become the best version of themselves.

My Why is everything I needed when I was the one competing, and didn't have.

Somebody to talk to.
Somebody I could be properly honest with.
Somebody I could tell my wins to without feeling like I was bragging, and my worries to without being told I was being silly.

That last one is the one that stayed with me. You learn very quickly to keep both to yourself. The good stuff in case you sound big-headed, the hard stuff in case you sound dramatic. And so you carry all of it on your own, at fifteen, in a car park, in a wig.

Most of them are doing exactly that right now, by the way. Not because you're not asking. Because they've decided it's easier not to say it.

My How is Move With Meg and the Gold Club. Every bit of it exists because I built the thing I wish somebody had handed me back then.

I'd love to hear yours.

What's the one thing you wish your dancer had, that you can't quite give her yourself?

We're coming to the All Scotland Championships, 1st to 4th October 💚

Every dance parent knows the build-up. The early start, the hair, the number pinned on, the laces checked twice. And the one thing you want most is for your dancer to walk on feeling READY.

This year we're bringing three sessions to the stall to help with exactly that ✨

💪 Movement Assessment with me, £19. One-to-one, before or after they dance. I take your dancer through the What, Why and How of the correction they're working on, so they know exactly what to focus on. Their first month of the Gold Club is FREE too.

🧠 Mindset Session with Annabelle, £30. Annabelle helps your dancer frame their mindset the right way before they go on stage, so they walk on as their best self. You can book it for the night before if they'd like to go to bed feeling prepped.

👟 Bróga Shoe Fitting with Lily, FREE. Try before you commit. Lily will make sure they're sized correctly, show you how the shoes work and how to lace them properly.

Corrections not clicking? Start with me. Nerves getting louder? Start with Annabelle. Need new shoes or curious about Bróga? Lily's waiting. Want the full picture? Book both.

Spaces are limited. Comment ALLSCOTS below and we'll send you the booking page.
