U16’s Continue Flying High with 74-29 Victory Over Clydebank

The Stray Bulls (U16’s) continued their impressive start to the season with an entertaining 74-29 victory over Clydebank in their first home league fixture of the campaign.

Following a strong 52-37 away win at Ayr RFC two weeks earlier, the newly formed Strathaven and Hamilton side carried their momentum into another high-scoring performance, showcasing both the attacking talent and growing understanding that is developing within the squad.

One of the most pleasing aspects for the coaches and supporters alike was the fantastic team spirit on display. The boys continue to build strong bonds on and off the field, with every player willing to work for their teammates and fight for every loose ball. That determination and togetherness was evident throughout the match and played a major role in securing another excellent result.

The forwards once again provided the platform, working tirelessly to secure possession and create opportunities. Their hard work at the breakdown and in open play allowed the backs to demonstrate their attacking threat, producing some brilliant passages of rugby.

With pace on the ball and confidence growing with every game, the Stray Bulls backline caused Clydebank problems throughout the afternoon and converted possession into a stream of points.
While the scoreline reflected an outstanding attacking display, there will still be areas for the squad to focus on as the season progresses. However, with two victories from their opening two league matches together, the signs are extremely encouraging for a team that only recently came together.

Most importantly, the squad continues to grow stronger as a unit with each outing. The partnership between the Strathaven and Hamilton players is flourishing, and the commitment, camaraderie and enjoyment shown by the boys are becoming the hallmarks of this exciting young side.

Attention now turns to the next league fixture, when the Stray Bulls welcome Cumbernauld RFC to continue their league campaign. 🏰 🐂🏉

⭐️ U14s ⭐️

Our under 14s travelled over to GHK Rugby Club this afternoon for a cracking day of rugby.

Joined also by Oban Lorne RFC and Annan Rugby, the 4 teams combined numbers to so they could play some fantastic rugby running as 15s.

Our boys split between GHK and Annan, so for the day all wore different shirts but the experience was great for them.

A big well done to Alfie making his debut today and also to Daniel and Theo who played flankers for the first time - and realised they’d rather play in the back line after all 🤣

Big shout out to Ally as well who seemed to play every game in different shirts!
