21st Sutton Coldfield Scout Group

In preparation for a winter camp later in the year we spent the night showing the scouts how to build shelters. They were all pretty good! They might even be waterproof....

Beavers and S'mores. What could be better.

Well roast beef I suppose, but not on a Monday......

Team Rice Race!

Three patrols. Three sets of kit. Who will be first to cook the rice?

To level it up, team snap had no adult help, team crackle a bit of help and pop (mostly 10 year olds) got some help.

Results? Snap, Pop then Crackle..

Natural activity for Beavers outdoor award badge making crowns using sticks and leaves they found themselves

Contour lines on a map. Always hard to explain, but vital to understand....

So, we made toast mountains. Ok, we ate them as well, but I think they got it!!

Amazing!

Today at Beavers we did some science experiments: mentos and fizzy drinks ranking from best to worst. Best was diet Coca-Cola worst being fanta.

Then we made vinegar and bicarbonate of soda puffer fish. These were thoroughly enjoyed by the Beavers.

Yesterday our Beaver colony had a St. George's Day parade from Powells pool up to the Jamboree Stone in Sutton Park. Here is our flag bearer at the stone.

After the parade we celebrated with drinks and ice cream celebrating 40 years of Beavers.

Well done to all the Beaver Colony's who took part and Happy Birthday Beavers
