A big thank you to the 7 Guild Volunteers who got stuck in and helped last weekend.

The event was the biggest and best to date and next year will be raven better !

These photos really capture one of the things we’re most proud of at Vowley — the next generation of falconers.

This year we had nearly 40 junior race entries, competing across both the Junior Flat Race and Junior Hunt Race. Seeing so many young falconers taking part, handling their own birds, working together as teams and competing with such enthusiasm was a real highlight of the weekend.

We’ve always believed that if falconry is going to have a strong future, we need to give young people the opportunity to become properly involved. Junior racing isn’t simply an add-on to the senior competition at Vowley; it’s an important part of what we’re trying to build. It gives young falconers their own categories in which to develop their skills, gain experience and, most importantly, enjoy competing alongside others their own age.

A huge thank you must go to Honeybrook Animal Foods who sponsored the Junior Flat Race, and Wingbeat Rofalconry who sponsored the Junior Hunt Race. Their support helps us continue to invest in junior racing and encourage more young people to get involved.

Judging by the numbers this year, the future is looking very encouraging. Some fantastic young falconers, some excellent falcons and plenty of competitive spirit — exactly what we want to see.

Congratulations to every junior who competed at Vowley 2026. Whether you came away with a prize or not, you were an important part of a fantastic weekend.

VOWLEY 2026 – OFFICIAL RACE RESULTS

What an incredible weekend at Vowley!

Here are the official results from all six race categories at the British Falcon Races 2026 — Novice Flat, Open Flat, Junior Flat, Novice Hunt, Open Hunt and Junior Hunt.

A huge congratulations to all of our winners and placed competitors, and a massive thank you to everyone who entered and competed. With more than 130 race entries across the weekend, this was by far our biggest Vowley to date and quality of the falcons and falconers was exceptional.

We’d also like to thank our sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, officials and everyone who came along to support the event. Over 600 people though the gates over the three days, without all of you, weekends like this simply wouldn’t be possible.

And finally, congratulations to every falconer, pilot, lure sw***er and team involved — we hope to see you all again next season.

VOWLEY 2026 – COMPETITOR UPDATE

It’s almost race day!

We’ve had more race entries than ever before this year, along with a record number of advance spectator tickets, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic weekend at Vowley.

A quick reminder for all competitors:

The Novice Flat Race starts promptly at 09:30 on Saturday, and we ask the first five competitors to be at the start gate and ready no later than 09:15.

Following the Novice Flat, there will be a short 10-minute break before we move straight into the Junior Flat Race, so junior competitors please keep an eye on the progress of the racing and be ready.

With so many entries this year, it’s really important that everyone keeps an eye on the running order and is ready when called.

Unfortunately, we cannot delay racing for competitors who are not ready at the gate. Anyone who misses their allocated position will be moved to the end of the running order so that racing can continue smoothly.

Hard copies of the running order will be available from the Race Office/Shop, which is also the location of the Wingbeat shop this year.

Jose is a highly respected chef with decades of experience, including many years at the House of Commons. He is now a Senior Chef Lecturer in Culinary Arts and is also the author of Venison and Feathers from The Game Larder series.

The countdown is well and truly on! Here’s the full racing schedule for Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September at Vowley.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic weekend of racing, with Novice, Open and Junior categories taking place across both days.

⚠️ Important reminder for all competitors:
Strictly no Falcons or RoPrey are to be flown outside racing hours of 09:30–17:00 - during which time all Falcons must be hooded and under cover when not racing.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us keep the race ground safe and organised throughout the weekend.

🔥 Saturday evening finishes with our BBQ from 18:00, so make sure you stick around and join us!
