Hi everyone, Charlotte here with your Tuesday routes from north of the border 🏴
We have 5.5k and 7.5k simple routes that we’ve done before so no excuses for getting lost, I’ve even reversed them so that we go down Broadway instead of up 🥳

It’s Happy New Running Age Category Day for one of our run leaders today 🥳
You’ll probably know her for her love/hate relationship with hills 🗻
You may have ‘experienced’ her wicked sense of humour or she may have unwittingly cajoled you into signing up for a race that you had no intention to.
But you’ll definitely know her as the supportive, encouraging person that’ll run alongside you and make those miles fly by. Whether that’s chatting away at the back of a Tuesday or Sunday social run or pacing you to a new PB in a race (anything from a 5k to an Ultra!)
She was the inaugural Clubwoman of the year and I know that all the other run leaders are so glad that she decided to become part of our Run Lead team
In true running w****r style, she’s celebrating by heading off to run the Loch Ness marathon this weekend 🏴
So join us in wishing the happiest birthday to the ever youthful looking Charlotte Leigh 🩷💙

An unexpectedly warm and sweaty Tuesday Social tonight! 🥵☀️
We kept things nice and simple with an out-and-back along Asdale Road. 20 minutes out, turn around and head back... although some of the speedier lot may have snuck in a little Barnsley Road loop!
Meanwhile, our 0-5K gang were apparently having so much fun chatting that they completely forgot to take a group photo 🤦♀️😂 They also managed an extra 5 minutes of running instead of walking back at the end. Amazing work!
Well done everyone who came out tonight, especially in that unexpected heat. Lots of happy, sweaty faces!
We're back tomorrow at 6:30pm for Improvers. See you there!

Hello running people, Andrew here👋🏻
It’s another week where we’re a bit stretched run leader wise so it’s a good old out and back social run on offer this Tuesday.
We haven’t even decided which direction to send you all off in, so book on, turn up and find out 🤔
0-5k folk, we’re on week 3 already 🤯 but I know you’ve got this 💪🏻
Wednesday’s improvers session is a load of Jason’s (arena reps with a twist if you didn’t know).
Don’t forget to wear something hi-vis as it’s starting to get dark by the time we finish💡🔦🌟

Mark here with your LRS info for this week!
After a few hilly weeks, I’ve tried to go as flat as possible
We've got 10K and 10 mile options, and both are NEW routes, so please have a proper look at them beforehand and get them loaded onto your phone or watch if you can. Don't just turn up and blindly follow the person in front... they might be just as lost as you 😂
As always, we'll make sure nobody is left behind.
Good luck to those at Wessenden and Cas 10k
📍 Holmfield Arms entrance, Thornes Park – lower car park
🕣 8:30am start
🏃 10K or 10 miles
Completely FREE
Please book on in advance so we know who's coming and can plan the groups and leaders accordingly.
See you Sunday!

The dark nights are creeping back in... Which means it's nearly time for the Wakefield Fordys to start glowing in the dark again!
As the evenings get darker, now's a good time to dig out your hi-vis, reflective gear and lights, or treat yourself to something new.
It doesn't have to be fancy. A hi-vis top or vest, reflective bands, clip-on lights, head torch... and, of course, last year's unexpected fashion statement - the light-up scrunchie.
The important bit is simple - you need to be seen.
As we head into autumn and winter, we'll increasingly be running in the dark and around roads, so if we can't see you properly, neither can drivers, cyclists or other path users.
Our run leaders need to know everyone is safe too, so please come dressed appropriately for the conditions. Remember, if you can't be seen, you can't run with us.
We're also sorting our evening winter meeting point for when the dark nights properly arrive. We'll confirm all the details very soon, so keep an eye out for that.
So consider this your early warning...Hi-vis season is coming!
