DUCATI WEEK.....
Hello from CSB Performance, things have been pretty busy here lately! We’ve had lots going on and plenty of jobs keeping us on our toes. Here’s a little look at some of the things we’ve been working on recently.
Broken Triumph, no gear selection fault.
Importance of a Full Shock Rebuild and Service
A full shock rebuild and service is essential to maintain the performance, safety, and reliability of the suspension. Over time, the oil degrades and seals wear out, reducing the shock's ability to absorb impacts effectively. Regular servicing restores damping performance, improves handling and ride comfort, prevents leaks and premature component failure, and extends the overall lifespan of the shock.
Portamio 2026 Track day trip.
If you've never been to this track, you must its nicknamed the roller coaster and for good reason with the undulating track its just like being on one.
This was a great trip and some valuable data gained regarding tyres. I currently ran metzeler TD slicks and they have excellent grip and durability but i always felt the front was not giving me the confidence I wanted so decided to try Bridgestone VO2 slicks and here is what I found:
More front-end confidence — the V02 gives a very planted feeling on corner entry and trail braking.
Exceptional edge grip — when you're carrying lean angle and starting to push harder, the tyre feels like it has another layer of grip available. Bridgestone specifically designed the V02 around maximizing cornering performance and contact patch stability.
Faster steering and sharper handling — the bike tends to feel more precise and eager to turn.
Strong consistency during long sessions — once up to temperature, grip and feedback stay predictable rather than going away suddenly. The construction is aimed at reducing internal heat-related variation.
Good warm-up characteristics — newer V02 compounds come up to working temperature quickly.
Wide operating window —The V02 remains usable even when setup isn't absolutely perfect, while still offering race-level grip.
Definitely worth a try if you haven't already, my go to choice for the foreseeable future.
BUSY,BUSY,BUSY......
A valve clearance check on the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX is a major engine service where the small gaps between the valves and camshafts are measured and adjusted if needed.
These gaps are important because the engine gets very hot. If the clearances are wrong:
too tight = valves may not close properly and can be damaged
too loose = noisy engine and reduced performance
On the H2SX, the check usually happens around 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
The job involves:
removing fairings, tank, and airbox
opening the engine top cover
measuring valve gaps with feeler gauges
replacing shims if adjustments are needed.
It is expensive mainly because it takes many hours of labor to access the engine.
This service helps keep the supercharged engine running smoothly, efficiently, and reliably.
