Maggs

🏠 Home starts with kindness 💚

We were delighted to visit Inkberrow Primary School recently to speak about the work Maggs does to support people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Worcestershire.

🌾 It was a pleasure to meet everyone, and we were truly overwhelmed by the school's Harvest collection!

Thanks to the generosity of pupils, families and staff, Inkberrow Primary donated an incredible quantity of essential items to our Harvest Appeal. From food and toiletries to everyday essentials, these donations will help us provide practical support, dignity and hope to people across Worcestershire as we head into the colder months.

From everyone at Maggs, thank you for your kindness, generosity and warm welcome. Your support will make a real difference to the people who access our services 🙌

Harvest is all about communities coming together to support those who need it most, and Inkberrow Primary has embraced that spirit wholeheartedly.

It's easy to walk past a scene like this without a second thought. But behind every sleeping mat in a doorway is a person with their own story, challenges and circumstances.

Sleeping rough can mean waking up cold, wet and exhausted. It can mean carrying everything you own with you. It can mean constantly searching for somewhere safe to rest, knowing there's no guarantee you'll be able to stay there for long.

At Maggs, our teams work every day to support people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Worcestershire, providing practical help, outreach, advice and a compassionate ear when it's needed most.

Because nobody should have to call a doorway home.

Thank you to everyone who supports our work and helps us stand alongside people facing some of life's toughest challenges 💚

🎉 Launching tomorrow: Maggs' Malvern Support Hub

We’re so pleased to be opening the doors to our new Maggs Malvern Support Hub tomorrow.

Thanks to significant investment from Malvern Hills District Council, we’ll be strengthening homelessness prevention and support across the Malvern Hills District, combining a welcoming local hub with proactive outreach across the wider area.

This means helping people earlier, before housing problems reach crisis point.

Our work will focus on prevention, early intervention and accessible local support, working alongside partners across Malvern Hills to make sure people know where to turn when they’re struggling.

This is an exciting next step for Maggs, and we’re incredibly proud to be expanding our support in Malvern. ❤️

💚 The Connection Project 💚

Since April, Maggs and H E L P - Supporting People In Need have been running The Connection Project: a welcoming space for women navigating substance use to feel safe, supported and heard.

The project provides an opportunity for women to build connections, access support and take part in activities that promote wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.

✨ Could you help make a difference? ✨

We're looking for a hairdresser or nail technician who would be willing to visit one of our sessions and offer a little bit of pampering to the women who attend.

If you're a hairdresser, nail technician, or you know someone who might be interested in getting involved, we'd love to hear from you!

📧 Please get in touch at [email protected]

Together, we can help create moments of confidence, connection and care.

🤝 The power of a lasting partnership 🤝

This month marks two years since our partnership with the SEN students at Heart of Worcestershire College began, and we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you!

👩‍🍳 Since September 2024, the students have been preparing and serving a weekly lunch for people who access our Worcester Day Centre, providing not only nutritious homemade meals, but also a warm welcome and friendly faces every Thursday 👨‍🍳

This project has become an important part of life at the Day Centre, bringing people together and demonstrating the positive impact that community collaboration can have.

⭐ We're incredibly grateful to the students and staff at Heart of Worcestershire College for their commitment, enthusiasm and ongoing support. It's been a pleasure to watch this partnership flourish, and we're so proud of everything that's been achieved together.

Here's to two fantastic years, and many more delicious lunches to come! 💚
