Worcester United Rovers

A disappointing first 15 minutes saw the rovers 3-0 down and embarrassing score line looming against high flyers West Warndon who was showing why whey they’re undefeated and join top.

After spending most of the first half on the back foot Rovers managed to create some decent chances on the counter attack and came close hitting the post and a few near misses but it was Warndon who took advantage making it 4-0 going into half time.

Some strong words and few changes saw the Rovers come out second half with a point to prove and started well just could find that finishing touch.

On came squeak then off went squeak with the ref thinking it was Christmas the amount of cards he was handing out and threatening to hand out 🤦‍♂️

But down to 10 and a few injury’s saw a make shift cb partnership of Matt and Higgs who kept the Wardon front line quiet with a bit of luck on their side with Warndon missing some decent chances in the second half.

Rovers were playing much better with the 10 men and everyone gave their all and this paid of with a rocket from Nat scoring the only goal of the second half 🩶🖤

Sunday we take on West Warndon fc who are joint top and undefeated this season. With Rovers being the massive underdogs we look forward to the challenge ahead.

With a lot of familiar faces playing for Warndon the banter has already started with Warndon’s very own Jam Arne Risse Owen Davis giving it beans already 👀👀

Sunday we took on our sister club Phoenix in what was an even game and saw the rovers battle and defend very well against a team now top of the table.

Marcin made some very good saves and some last ditch defending from MOTM coops saw the game stay level with Phoenix have more clear cut chances.

Unfortunately lacking in height cost the Rovers with Phoenix seeming to have a team full of giants 👀😂 Scoring in the second half from 2 identical corners.

Rovers pushed and had a few chances but nothing clear cut.

Last Sunday we took on TVT FC

It’s fair to say they’re virgins no more 👀

A game dominated by the Rovers saw some players who had agreed to play for the Rovers lining up on the other team. Some not even making the Virgins squad, and others being dragged off after a poor performance. Grass isn’t always greener, but apparently it was “too long” 👀

Our first goal came from a corner, with Boomerang Squeak finding the head of Brett “The SlitBack” Heart, who headed home for his first of the season.

The Rovers continued to dominate the first half, playing some good football but failing to take their chances going into half-time.

The second half saw the Rovers start poorly, and a questionable decision from the ref accused the Rovers keeper of… actually, I have no idea what he saw, but an indirect free kick was awarded.

Marcin took the decision well and decided to test the stability of the new goals with his foot. Fair to say, they’re solid 💪. Unfortunately, this gave the Virgins a goal and put them back in the game.

Squeak was on a one-man mission, chasing every ball, and saw his hard work pay off when the Virgin keeper and CB decided to have some cuddle time, allowing Squeak to sneak in and slot the ball home.

The Rovers took control, a cross from Magnet Ginge saw the ball loop over the keeper to make it 3-1 to the Rovers.

The last few minutes of the game saw a brilliant save from the Virgins. Unfortunately, it was their CB who made the save! Penalty to the Rovers.

A decision JP didn’t take very well, channelling his inner Drogba and calling the ref a “f**king disgrace”. The Virgins’ cherry was firmly popped and a red card was shown.

Up stepped Baby Noah, calmly slotting home for his first goal in men’s football and securing a big three points for the Rovers! 💪⚽️
