Today I got to spend the day with Green Watch and the wider fire family at Wrexham Fire Station, capturing Andy Williams’ last day… well, kind of!

After 37 years of service, Andy is officially retiring, and I was lucky enough to be there with my camera to capture the moments, the laughs, the madness, and everything in between.

Honestly, without Andy and all the crews and fire family at Wrexham Station, I’d never have been able to capture half of the cool stuff I got to see and experience today.

It wasn’t just about photographing Andy’s last day it was about capturing the people, the friendships, the memories and the little moments that make the fire family what it is.

It was a real privilege to spend the day with you all. ❤️ 🚒 📸

A great afternoon at Wrexham – Your Library
I had the pleasure of attending the Wrexham Your Library event and working with the fantastic Wrexham All Voices Choir to photograph their performance.

It was brilliant to see the choir bring the event to life, and I loved capturing those moments from behind the camera. 📸
There was a great mix of music, storytelling, local history and community throughout the afternoon definitely one of those events that reminds you how much goes on right here in Wrexham.

Why I do what I do.

This isn’t a one-off. Wrexham Fire RDS Crew Training

I try to attend training sessions regularly with the crew as a volunteer photographer, documenting what they do and giving people an honest look behind the scenes. I am Proud to keep volunteering my time and photography to showcase the work of the firefighters and the people behind the callouts.

Behind the BA

After the summer we’ve had, with firefighters across the UK dealing with wildfire after wildfire, the demands on our fire and rescue services have been enormous. These men and women don’t just turn up when the siren sounds. There’s preparation, maintenance, training, teamwork and countless hours behind the scenes that most of us never see. So, wherever you are in the UK, take a minute today to say thank you to our firefighters.

Thank you for protecting our communities. And thank you for everything you do before, during and after the shout.

This bid was never going to be just paperwork. It’s built from years of people showing up for this town: the artists, the community groups, the volunteers, the small businesses, all of it. Every conversation, every idea, every late night pulling it together, it all led to this.

Wrexham already has something special. This bid is proof of it, and a chance to show the rest of the UK what we’ve known all along.

The bid is in. Now we wait, and hope, and see where play takes us 🤞.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about working with organisations that genuinely champion local businesses.

I’m delighted to have partnered with This Is Wrecsam for a second project, this time creating content for Caffi Wylfa, a brilliant example of how independent businesses and local producers are helping shape Wrecsam’s identity.

As we continue our journey towards City of Culture 2029, it’s more important than ever that we celebrate the people, places and businesses that make our city unique.

There are some places you return to and instantly feel at home.

It was great to be back at Wrexham Fire Station last night, spending time with the crews, taking some professional photos, and having a catch-up that was long overdue.

Over time, visits like these have become about much more than just the photography. Of course, I’m always proud to create images that reflect the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism of the crews, but just as importantly, it’s about seeing good friends and being part of the wider fire family.

That sense of connection is what makes each visit so special. The fire service has a way of bringing people together, and it’s always a privilege to spend time with familiar faces who have become friends and family along the way.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, the laughs, and for once again trusting me to capture a small part of your story through my camera. Until next time.
