There is a thought that when someone leaves this world, we can still access the goodness they created and left behind.

In a world that seems increasingly shaped by division and indignation, what a gift it is to have someone who brought so many people together.

Dolly Parton was a unique person, and the mourning of her is rightly felt. I hope we don’t place her so far outside ourselves that her example feels unattainable.

Perhaps what she showed us is simpler, that we all have some capacity for generosity, compassion and unconditional love,not just toward those close to us, but toward people we might otherwise be taught to see as different from us.

In a society that teaches us to see some as “ other” loving people is far from easy at times.

Dolly often said, “I try.”

I like that. It feels less like an instruction and more like an invitation.

To try a little harder to understand. To hold a little more nuance. To remember that we tend to give ourselves grace for our contradictions while allowing much less of it to those we disagree with.

Maybe that’s part of what we can carry forward from her.

Rest well, Dolly. And thank you for reminding me to always try.

I’m welcoming you to a q***r-led dancefloor built on history, joy, and serious sound.

My Intention is to centre q***r expression, joy, and celebration. Friends and allies are welcome of course with respect.
Dont come to watch the culture. Remember, Radical, revolutionary ideas happen on dancefloors. 💥
Dancing and celebration is the priority. Q***r joy is especially important right now Our floor is a therapeutic space to sweat, express, and exorcise our difficulties and find our strengths. Come alone or with your crew.

A healing floor isn’t consumed, a healing is built, so please bring something

For the first time, I’ll be playing downstairs at the club.

I’ve always felt very at home upstairs, I never thought much about playing downstairs. I’m looking forward to enjoying myself in a different room. Feels like the right time.
