We're pleased to confirm that we will reopen as normal tomorrow, Monday 21st September, from 6:30am.

The Centre's water system has been thoroughly disinfected to ensure that it has been completely treated, overseen throughout by subject matter experts. As an additional precaution, filters have now also been installed across the site, and visitors may notice upgrades to showers and taps, which have been fitted to accommodate this new system.

A small number of facilities are still going through these upgrade works and will be unavailable. These have been safely isolated and are clearly signposted, and it is anticipated that they will be brought back into use across this coming week.

A huge thank you to all the teams, staff members and contractors who have gone above and beyond this week to return the Centre to use. A special mention goes to Guernsey Post for their support in getting the filters off the boat and to the team as soon as they arrived in the island.

And finally, thank you to the Beau Sejour community for the understanding and support.

The Beau Sejour team looks forward to welcoming you back, with absolute reassurance that it is safe to do so.

Work is continuing at Beau Sejour to resolve the issue following the temporary closure due to Legionella bacteria detected in the water system. The specialist teams and external contractors working at the Centre are still waiting on some of the equipment to arrive in the island, which will ensure the system is able to filter out the bacteria completely.

Importantly, no cases have been detected in the community. As a routine precaution, Public Health, GPs and the Emergency Department continue to monitor the situation.

Because this essential work is still underway, the Centre will remain closed on Friday 18th September.

Saturday's 'The Music of Tina Turner' show has unfortunately been cancelled. The performers are travelling from the UK, and with the timeline still uncertain, it is not fair for them to commit to travelling when the theatre is not guaranteed to reopen. Ticketholders will be contacted as soon as possible once the Centre has reopened regarding their bookings. In the meantime, the team is grateful for your patience and understanding.

A further update will follow tomorrow, Friday 18 September, confirming wider arrangements for the weekend, including the 'Paws for Support' dog show on Sunday.

Thank you to all the staff and contractors working to get the Centre reopened, and to the local businesses who have reached out to offer support. The team is working extremely hard to bring Beau Sejour back into service as quickly as possible.

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE! 📢

Following the temporary closure of Beau Sejour due to Legionella bacteria detected in the water system, work is ongoing to identify the source of the problem and resolve it, so that the Centre can reopen as quickly as possible.
The Centre will remain closed tomorrow (Thursday 17th September). A further update will be published tomorrow afternoon confirming arrangements for Friday and the weekend.

If you have a class or booking scheduled, there's no need to take any action. All affected bookings will be cancelled automatically, and no charges will be made to your account.
Customers who have already paid for a booking will be contacted once the centre reopens to arrange either a refund or an alternative booking.

As a precaution, Beau Sejour Leisure Centre has been closed with immediate effect today, and throughout tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September.
Public Health has confirmed that they do not currently know of any cases of Legionnaire's Disease in the community.

What an utterly brilliant day at the Utmost Family Fun Day.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped promote our sport (and others), the Guernsey Sports Commission for organising the day and Utmost for their support.

The weather was also amazing, pretty hot out there.
