Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities

Today, we planted more than trees, we planted hope, resilience, and a greener future for generations to come.

Together with students at Day Spring Educational Home, we took a small but meaningful step toward restoring our environment and strengthening climate action in our communities.

Every seedling in the ground is a commitment to cleaner air, cooler communities, and a healthier planet.

The future grows from the actions we take today.

BREAKING! The 17th reveals that fossil fuel financing from the world’s top 65 banks has reached $8.7 TRILLION in just ten years. Instead of investing in a livable future for us all, big banks are driving worldwide pollution and climate devastation.
In 2025, just 12 banks provided almost 40% of all bank fossil fuel funding worldwide. That’s right, a dirty dozen of banks are responsible for well over a third of global fossil fuel financing.

We're not just planting trees, we're planting shade for tomorrow, cleaner air for our communities, and hope for future generations.

This Wednesday, we take action for climate resilience through our Green Corridors for Climate Resilience initiative in partnership with the Forestry Commission.

Some key highlights from our webinar yesterday.

• Extreme heat must be integrated into long-term development planning, governance, and public service delivery rather than treated as a seasonal emergency.

• Effective heat resilience requires people-centred early warning systems that translate forecasts into timely actions to protect lives, livelihoods, and vulnerable populations.

• Climate data, technology, innovation, and strengthened Africa–India collaboration are essential for scaling heat resilience solutions, improving preparedness, and supporting informed decision-making

Thank you to all the speakers and participants for a great session.
