The best kitchens don't really end at the kitchen — this one stretches straight into a dining table in the same oak, so there's no hard line between cooking and sitting down together.

Concrete-look doors on the island, warm oak larder units around the edges, and a hidden gadget zone tucked into what used to be a chimney breast. Even the breakfast station disappears behind pocket doors when it's not in use.

The stuff that never has a proper home — shoes, water crates, the step stool you drag out twice a year, the ironing board leaning in a corner — finally gets one.

A pull-out step hides flush in the plinth. Shoes sit on ventilated shelves instead of piling up by the door. Even the ironing board gets its own slot. None of it's flashy, it just means one less thing cluttering the room.

Dark cabinetry can feel cold if you're not careful. Here it doesn't — the warm caramel tone running through the island and worktop keeps the whole room feeling lived-in rather than showroom-staged.
