Philip was found by in the garbage when he was tiny and gravely ill with FIP. He spent the next few months of his life in a vet clinic box being prodded and painfully handled every day, which made him extremely fearful of humans.
He was then transferred to the .can shelter, where he continued living in a crate, isolated by the other cats. His fear continued, and he was quite hostile toward the volunteers.
In time, he made a full recovery and caught the eye of the wonderful and her husband, , who welcomed Philip to their home in the Netherlands, with the help of who acted as flight buddy. Vanessa kept supporting Philip throughout and is still involved, enthusiastically enjoying his new beginning!
Philip was initially kept separate from their other cats, and Tanya and Thijs made sure to spend lots of time with him without any pressure, just being in the same room doing their thing. It did not take long for Philip to overcome his reservations and become the cuddlebug he was always meant to be. Now, he's freely roaming the house and getting to know his siblings 🤗
Philip has a wonderful life ahead. He will be happy and make his people happy. Just as it should be 🤎

Thank you for helping in September! 🤎
Unfortunately, none of the original targets could be reached, mostly because difficult things happened with Charlotte, Elva, and Sebastian and rapidly drained the resources.
There is an amount pending for September's essentials, and nothing has been raised so far for the EIDD-1931 medication from Germany and the debt to the pet store 😑
Please keep helping!

This has been a really stressful month with several emergencies, and I'm still a long way from the fundraising targets. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤎

Here is a video of Charlotte playing with her drip, which I think is nicely symbolic 😊
All results are ready now, and I have included them here in pictures for the record. It's the blood tests, xray, ultrasound, CT scan, and cytology report.
Long story short, she still doesn't have a definitive diagnosis, but there is probably no aggressive cancer and it could be slow cancer or FIP.
There is:
⚡️Kidney damage, which could be chronic kidney disease
⚡️Lung collapse, which could be severe pneumonia or FIP related
⚡️A large mass in her liver, which could be a benign tumor, malignant but slow growing tumor, or FIP granuloma
⚡️Pancreatitis and a pancreatic tumor, but it's most probably not malignant and could be FIP related
⚡️An enlarged spleen, but the vets believe this isn't important
⚡️Anemia and severe systemic inflammation
⚡️Gastro issues possibly causing nausea
Accordingly, she's eating renal food, getting daily drip fluids, and taking antibiotics for her lungs, EIDD-1931 for the possible FIP, hepatiale forte for her liver, calopet vitamins for a general boost, and gabapentin to manage pain and agitation. She might also start Porus One for her kidneys.
Her mood is fluctuating between extreme agitation and drowsiness, but she also has many good moments. Her appetite is good, and she's always up for that extra bite, but I'm keeping her on many small meals over the day. Her condition is critical, but I want to be hopeful. Whatever it is, it moved really fast because her previous tests showed none of these things, and they were only a few months ago.
I'll take her back to the vet for repeat tests in about a month. I’ve been going there myself almost every day to pester them about her 🤦
For now, fingers crossed for Charlotte! 🥰

Elva had a vet appointment for tests last week because she suddenly lost weight. As she has no teeth (had all been removed while she was still a stray), my first thought was that her mouth would be troubling her again, although she was eating normally.
The first conclusion was that her age had been miscalculated and that she is older than 10 years. Then, she was diagnosed with a collection of problems, including:
⚡️Hyperthyroidism, which has also affected her heart and liver. This is fatal if left untreated.
⚡️Arthritis in her spine, a sign of old age and source of constant discomfort.
⚡️Bronchitis, possibly a remnant of her stray life, occasionally flaring up.
⚡️Mouth inflammation with ulcers. This has cost her all her teeth and will probably be periodically resurfacing.
The secondary issues have reappeared now because of her thyroid.
She has begun treatment with antibiotics, methimazole for her thyroid, hepatiale forte advanced for her liver, subcutaneous fluids for dehydration, and probiotics to manage her gastro system. She'll also have the only special thyroid food on the market for 3 weeks until the meds start working properly and will be rechecked on October 12. That food is highly inappropriate for cats, in my opinion, almost entirely composed of grains, but it's the only option available for this early period.
After her values normalize, I plan to take her for therapy with radioactive iodine (same as is done for humans) because medication can only manage the condition up to a point, and then it becomes fatal.
The cost for Elva so far has been €140 (new vet debt, €255 total) plus €43 for the first supplies.
She must have a double ultrasound as soon as possible to check the condition of her heart and organs and will require frequent vet checks until she stabilizes.
Please help Elva if you can 🧡

I've made several posts about Charlotte's condition, which keeps getting worse despite persistent efforts to figure out what's wrong.
She previously had xrays, blood tests, and an ultrasound that didn't help reach a diagnosis, and she's now going through another cycle of the same with the addition of an extra heart ultrasound.
Charlotte has lost much weight, and she's now also developed anemia and a slight issue with her kidneys. She has bronchitis (or asthma?), difficulty eating despite being hungry, and is in pain and great agitation for reasons unknown.
-> It's not because of her mouth: she's been taking EIDD-1931 for 7 weeks, which has helped completely resolve her gingivitis
-> It's not because of her tummy: both the clinical exam and xray showed no blockage or other issue in her gastro system
-> Is it nausea? I'm giving her painkillers, subcutaneous fluids, and an injectable antiemetic (which stings, and she doesn't like it at all)
I hope the treatment helps because her condition is critical and I don't even know what's wrong. She hasn't eaten properly since Wednesday and spends her time hiding in various places like the bathroom and closet, snapping at anyone getting close.
She has an appointment for both a heart and abdominal ultrasound on Monday at 3 pm. Perhaps she will also need a colonoscopy afterward, if she makes it till then 😔
The cost so far:
€75 on Thursday (new vet debt)
€30 today (paid, receipt attached)
€240 for the double ultrasound on Monday (must raise funds; no possibility of credit)
Please help me raise the €240 for her ultrasound on Monday! I'm taking her to Vet Diagnosis, an imaging center in Nea Ionia. I don't really know the people there to ask for credit, so I need to have the money ready to pay 😕

After many trapping adventures, Sebastian could finally begin his healing journey on Friday with his first vet visit. He was only given cortisone, antibiotics, and nexgard combo and sent home because he had breathing difficulty and could not undergo anesthesia.
He returned to the clinic on Wednesday for a full examination, neutering, xrays, fiv/felv check, blood tests, and additional medication.
🐾The xray showed that the huge protrusion is probably a benign cyst that will soon be surgically removed
🐾He's extremely lucky to be negative for fiv and felv because he's covered in scars and wounds from fights with other male cats, and extensive fighting is a prime way of transmission for these diseases
🐾 The vets said that he's "young." Nobody can tell exactly how old he is, but perhaps around 3 would be a fair guess
🐾All his tests came back normal, but indeed, several were just inside the normal range. Hopefully, this is the result of having gone through a lot and he'll recover with care. I'll keep him on renal food for now and ask for some extra tests like SDMA
Sebastian is staying in a roomy recovery crate, and he even has his very own armchair, which he loves. His crate is in my father's small yard, where there is only cover from the rain, and he'll need to move before the weather turns wintery. Thankfully, this will not happen for at least another two months.
On Friday, I paid €75 and on Wednesday €255. Any help toward covering these amounts would be most appreciated, as more expenses are on the way, including Sebastian's upcoming surgery 🧡

All babies are waiting for their homes 🧡

This is Sebastian. He appeared three days ago outside my house and has come every morning since. He's full of wounds, completely congested, can hardly walk and eat, and has a huge thing dangling from his belly. Tumor, abscess, fistula?? No idea.
I've so far supported him with cortisone, antibiotics, and as much good quality mashed food as he can eat. Today, he showed more trust, and I could assess his situation better and made arrangements to trap him tomorrow. And then what?
I already owe €600 to the vet clinic and have to raise €4324 total in September. It's impossible to just take on yet another case. And what of all the rescues urgently waiting for their own vet appointments and surgeries? I cannot even cover September's essentials at this point.
Please donate! Please share! Please spread the word that there is very great need for help! 🙏

The cost of caring for the fosters and new rescues from the Perissos project is becoming overwhelming.
The goal is for the cats to get ready for adoption and find forever homes. Operations cannot proceed without funds, and the cats remain in a stressful limbo that is not sustainable.
I need consistent support for the following several months to do what needs to be done and get these babies out of here and into the arms of their forever families. This is the only option, and it's perfectly doable with a little help along the way.
Please help all you can! 🧡
