DAMON SYSTEMA

DAMON SYSTEMA is a band, active for some time in the past (from 2008 to 2010) and started as an exclusively instrumental band. Founded by guitarist and producer Akis Pastras (DEXTER WARD [GR/I], NIGHTFALL [GR]), but due to other musical "obligations" at that time (2010), it was put in the drawer with the intention of being used at some point in the future. During the outbreak of COVID19 and the quarantine, Akis found the opportunity to "dust off" some pieces that were in the drawer and as a result a material was found, which with a different approach, appropriate to this era, it creates a relevant narrative, so that to be able to say that there was an album in front of him. EVIL WITHIN - ex. VAULT OF ACANTHUS) and Nick Vlachakis (SHATTERED HOPE - FÖHN - OCEAN OF GRIEF) on vocals and on drums The Goat. In the creation of the artwork Okim Tulal imaginatively rendered the lyrical narrative on the cover. The concept album bears the title “ATE” and presents - with an allegorical look - the ancient Greek shape of "Hybris - Ate - Nemesis - Tisis", which in ancient times rendered in a mythical way the results of a person's arrogance. Ate, the goddess of calamity and the cause of blurring of the mind, is a central figure in this story that describes the album. The approach to the subject has nothing to do with some kind of antiquity-worship. On the contrary, it highlights man's internal struggle with the "monster" that leads him to destruction, to the "divine" trial and finally to punishment.
