“When working on my collages I’ve always looked to find a balance between the ugly and the beautiful, and the most successful ones usually end up landing somewhere in the middle. That sweet spot is a good place to be.”

Crafting compositions exclusively with found paper and vintage ephemera, UK-based mixed-media artist Jake Kennedy (✂️ jake kennedy) has been transforming forgotten fragments into analogue collages since the mid-1990s.

Without sketches or predetermined ideas, each work unfolds through cutting, scratching, tearing and rebuilding - guided by intuition and the materials themselves.

With over three thousand collages created across three decades, Kennedy continues to reveal new possibilities within the hidden life of printed matter.

Through the lense of Felix Mooneeram

“Everything I choose to shoot is about giving myself permission in the moment. Even if I do plan something, it never works out the way I envision it. It always takes me in a different direction.”

For artist Jonė Reed, photography begins with paying attention. Born in Lithuania and now based in London, her work reflects an ongoing dialogue between the landscapes of her childhood and the life she has built today. Her practice is guided by instinct, allowing everyday encounters to take on new meaning.

During her recent House of Shila. residency at Mona. and Shila., Jone’s lens meditates on the city’s changing light, two pigeons on a balcony, and a room she couldn’t bring herself to leave. The kind of moments that gently shift the way we look.
