R.I.P.🥲

The world has lost one of its most distinctive, fearless and deeply soulful voices.

Cassandra Wilson was an artist who expanded the vocabulary of the voice. She was beautiful and strong. Cassandra moved effortlessly through jazz, blues, folk, country, and African-American musical traditions, always making the music unmistakably her own. Cassandra‘s impact and influence was profound. She transcended.

Cassandra’s presence at Blue Note was extraordinary spanning decades. We will forever cherish Cassandra and the beautiful memories she made at Blue Note.

As we honor and celebrate the life of Cassandra Wilson, today is a deeply sad day as we mourn the loss of a great friend, extraordinary artist, and powerful creative force.
