Athens Network of Collaborating Experts (ANCE) is an NGO based in Athens, Greece, since 1996, with the vision to create meaningful change.
✨ Athens Network of Collaborating Experts (ANCE) is an NGO based in Athens working on inclusion, empowerment, human rights, and equality through non-formal education ✨ With an extensive network of partners and volunteers across EU and developing countries, we work towards a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world, promoting the support of vulnerable social groups. ANCE collaborates with other NGOs, universities, local authorities, research centers and the private sector in Greece and abroad to:
- promote democracy, human rights & social inclusion
- support vulnerable groups and crisis-affected communities
- raise awareness to EU citizens on global challenges
- empower women and foster entrepreneurship
- protect the environment & cultural heritage
Through humanitarian aid, development projects and awareness campaigns, we aim to give everyone a voice, opportunities and dignity. 🌍✨

ANCE is also a member of:
-The Greek National Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) that promotes understanding between cultures and exchanges between civil societies.
-The European Civic Forum (FCE), a transnational network of over 100 associations and NGOs across 27 countries in Europe, which aims to encourage a civic and popular ownership of Europe by facilitating the networking of local, regional and national associative and NGOs actors working in their countries in the field of citizenship education and civics but also by the implementation of common actions aiming at “awakening the European citizen”.
-The Greek Platform for Development that coordinates Greek NGOs performing in the fields of international development cooperation, humanitarian aid and development education.

RE-MEMORISING EU: WWII 🇪🇺

📍 Kick-off Meeting | Versailles 🇫🇷
On 22-23 of September, the partners had the first kick-off meeting at University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
The presentations and discussion focused on connecting heritage, memory, people & digital innovation. 🏛️🌍
Furthermore, we had a creative dialogue on exploring European research, innovation & the future of cultural heritage as well as the project’s steps and upcoming meetings. ✨
🇪🇺 As ANCE’s first Horizon Europe initiative, this marks an important milestone in our growing engagement with European research and innovation initiatives.

We are honored to announce Athina Papafotiou Athina Papafotiou as our 2nd keynote speaker for the Final Event of the The Portrayal of Women Athletes in Sports Media !
Athina Papafotiou is a former volleyball athlete and former player of the Greek National Volleyball team, with numerous accolades in national and European championships. Combining her experience as a professional athlete and her personal point of view as a woman athlete, her insights will be significant for everyone attending our final conference!

🎉 We've successfully completed the 2nd cycle of our POWER training!
After a highly engaging in-person cycle in Athens, we took the training online, and the results exceeded our expectations! Through Zoom breakout rooms and interactive discussions, we welcomed participants from the field of para-athletics, organizations for female empowerment and gender equality, and even the Hellenic Olympic Committee.
Beyond the exercises themselves, both cycles were a real learning experience for us too, deepening our understanding of gender equality in sports, emerging developments, and the practices we're working to change, through active dialogue with journalists, students, and seasoned professionals alike. It's really been a true privilege!
A huge thank you to every participant who brought their knowledge, curiosity, and commitment to these sessions. Together, we're building the tools for a fairer, more balanced representation of women in sports media. 📸📰
