Sharing Mid-Autumn Joy with the Community

On 19 September 2026, Guardforce volunteers visited the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Tuen Mun Elderly Day Care Centre at Leung King Estate, Tuen Mun, to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the elderly through a Goldfish Lantern Making Workshop.

It was a warm and meaningful afternoon of creativity, conversation and sharing, as our colleagues and the elderly participants made lanterns together and enjoyed the festive spirit. Thank you the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Tuen Mun Elderly Day Care Centre for giving us the opportunity to connect with the community and share this special occasion with the elderly.

At Guardforce, we believe community care starts with meaningful connections and action. We will continue to encourage our colleagues to take part in community and volunteer initiatives and contribute to a more caring and inclusive society.

Hong Kong is taking another step towards making “ageing in place” a reality.

The 2026 Policy Address reinforces the principle of “ageing in place as the core, with institutional care as back-up”, while the city’s first Five-Year Plan sets a longer-term direction for economic and social development.

But enabling older adults to live independently at home is not only about expanding care services. It also raises an important question: how can technology help families and caregivers stay informed about an older person’s wellbeing without disrupting their daily life?

Home vital signs monitoring sensors could be part of the answer.

By enabling health indicators to be monitored in the home environment, sensor technology can support more proactive approaches to elderly care and help build a connected ecosystem around ageing in place.

In our latest blog, we explore the role home vital signs monitoring sensors can play as Hong Kong advances its ageing-in-place strategy.

Is routine cleaning enough to maintain a hygienic indoor environment throughout the day?

For busy facilities in Macau, maintaining indoor hygiene isn’t just about how thoroughly a space is cleaned—it’s also about what happens between cleaning cycles.

Plasma disinfection offers an additional layer of protection that can complement regular cleaning routines, helping organisations take a more proactive approach to indoor hygiene.

In our latest article, we explore how plasma disinfection works, where it can add value, and how it can become part of a more comprehensive hygiene strategy for offices, commercial properties and other high-traffic environments.
