According to oral heritage, this recipe dates back to the 16th century, tracking alongside the historic mining boom in Rude near Samobor.

The Name’s Secret:
It was named after the “greblica”, a traditional wooden tool used to rake ash in old bread ovens (because the finished cake perfectly resembles its shape).

The Original Energy Bar:
Originally made by local miners’ wives, this savory pie of crispy dough, fresh cheese, and walnuts was a hearty meal packed for long, grueling days inside the mines.
