Should AI agents be more like coworkers, or should they eventually be able to run an entire business?

One company believes the answer could be the second option, with AI taking on a much bigger role in how a company operates, including decisions that are usually handled by leadership.

To prove the concept, they plan to buy a company and let AI run it like a CEO to see how it performs in a real business environment.

Find out how they plan to do it in the new edition of our Road to AI newsletter. Read the full breakdown here: https://profico.substack.com/p/can-ai-run-the-company-and-automate

The recent surge of artificial intelligence tools gives financial organisations the technical capacity to streamline daily workflows that rely on heavy amounts of data spread across fragmented architectures.

However, an abundance of new technology does not automatically clarify which specific operational tasks truly justify the financial investment.

We realised these teams need a structured method to evaluate their options, so we developed a proven framework that helps banks and fintechs pinpoint the exact routines where custom automation will eliminate manual effort and deliver a measurable return.

If you want to see how the framework works in practice, you can explore it here: https://profi.co/blog/identify-ai-use-cases-in-banking-and-fintech

A legacy that spans generations is always built on continuous evolution.

Since 1966, Windy Scandinavia AB has steadily set the standard in Scandinavian boatbuilding.

After delivering over 14,000 vessels worldwide, the challenge becomes making sure their digital space feels as precise and substantial as the physical boats they build.

We partnered with Windy to design a platform capable of holding that history.

The new site naturally connects their core range of boats with their newer capabilities, organising their growing bespoke tender division and refit services into a clean, modern space.

It was a privilege to work alongside a brand with six decades of uninterrupted history.

AI has given us the ability to turn early concepts into something valuable much faster, with far less risk for the client.

But contrary to all the hype you see online these days, our software engineer Andrej Radomiljac points out that building a quality product still depends on thoughtful ex*****on and sharp human judgment, not just speed.

He joined us last week to share his takes on AI’s positive impact on software engineering, what the coming years look like for junior developers, and how AI actually helps when working directly with clients.

Recently, the internet crossed an interesting milestone: according to network data, bots and automated AI systems generated more web traffic than real people for the first time in history.

And that raises the question: if AI agents take over most of our daily online tasks, will the companies that focus on building tools and infrastructure specifically for those agents hold the ultimate competitive edge in the next decade?

One major FinTech platform is currently in a strong position to capture that market.

Can AI speed up a drug development process that usually takes a decade?

This week, the new edition of our Road to AI newsletter brings you a closer look at how a system from Amazon's AWS has managed to reduce early research cycles by 87 percent, and how its approach to connecting isolated information is effective enough to serve as a blueprint for any industry dealing with massive, scattered datasets.

A new study of over 600 firms by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance shows that more than half of financial institutions are already working on agentic AI.

Yet, it seems that the term "agentic" is being used to describe a lot of different things right now.

In a banking environment, agentic AI should act as the connective tissue between massive amounts of data and final ex*****on, analysing that information to work out the exact steps needed to solve a task based on defined policies.

In our new blog post, discover where these systems realistically fit into banking workflows and what controls must be in place before they handle any regulated tasks.

What happens when you force automation into a complex workflow before your team is actually ready for it?

One of the largest banks in the world learned the lesson the hard way when a massive AI integration completely broke its customer service pipeline.

This week in the Road to AI newsletter, find out how the bank made a remarkable comeback by creating a disciplined, human-led strategy and building a highly supervised AI system that delivered a 340% ROI.

Most of us are trying to figure out where AI fits into our work, how much to let it take, and where to draw the line.

Our QA Engineer Alen Suša landed on a clear answer for his testing process by keeping it strictly in the role of an assistant.

In his workflow AI handles the repetitive setup and drafting, but he is the one who decides what gets flagged and reported.

He broke down how he set it up: the rules he gave the AI, the limits he built in, and how it freed him up for the judgement calls that need a tester.

Buying a few LLM licenses is a great way to let people in the office experiment with AI...

But just dumping your daily tasks into a prompt box and expecting it to figure out how to run things better is the reason why companies end up with nothing to show for their investment.

In the new edition of the Road to AI newsletter we bring you an interesting take and some real examples of how treating an LLM like your right hand before you even have a clue about what you should be improving can slowly tear your company apart from within.

We look at why letting your team test out the technology should only ever be the initial step, which then has to be followed by getting everyone together to establish a clear strategy if you actually want the tools to do something genuinely useful for your business.
