Artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-based technologies have developed at extraordinary speed and have become increasingly accessible, bringing about changes across many areas of life, Higher Education included. Their effective and responsible application is particularly important in higher education, one of whose central aims is to promote social well-being and enhance the quality of human life. Organised by the Artificial Intelligence and the Human Research Group at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, together with the Care of Creation Research Centre and the Genesis Excellence Workshop, this conference addresses some of the most pressing current questions in the field, proceeding from the conviction that the use of AI should serve the improvement of human life.

The conference seeks to provide a forum for researchers, educators, and sector stakeholders engaged in the integration of artificial intelligence into higher education. It aims to foster the exchange of experience, encourage professional dialogue, and support the development of new and innovative approaches. Submissions of presentation abstracts are awaited in both English and Hungarian.

Last Thursday, May 28, the Corvinus Communication Science PhD program held its annual Spring Research Forum, which consisted of three large roundtables and a working lunch. It was an experiment with a different format for our forum, allowing students working on similar research areas to address larger questions specific to their shared interests. We also worked together to come up with some new programming for the 2026-27 academic year that would allow us to continue these conversations.

Marketingnyelvészet / Marketing Linguistics 2026 felhívás 27/05/2026

📢 𝐂𝐅𝐏: 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝟓-𝟔 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
📌 Szombathely, Hungary
⏰ Abstract submission deadline: 15 September 2026

The papers presented at the interdisciplinary conference on Marketing Linguistics will focus on the intersections between marketing and linguistics. The conference aims to find common ground between the two disciplines, outlining current trends and laying the foundations for the interdisciplinary research field of Marketing Linguistics in Hungary.

The intersection of the two disciplines is inevitable: We gather information about products, brands, and services primarily through language. Consequently, linguistic knowledge can help communicate more effectively in marketing contexts, and it may enhance the competitiveness of businesses. Well-formulated language elements and marketing communication messages can give companies a competitive advantage, while poorly formulated messages can deter consumers. Linguistic knowledge is particularly relevant in the case of green communication: communication about the green transition of the economy and sustainability can help promote greener products and raise consumer awareness of sustainability.

Presentations at the conference may be given in Hungarian, English, or German. The conference is open to both Hungarian and international speakers, and presentations from PhD students are particularly welcome.

𝘾𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝙆𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤́𝙛-𝘾𝙨𝙖́𝙠𝙞, our 4th-year doctoral student presented her poster titled “𝑉𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑊ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑎𝑡𝑠: 𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝐴𝐼 𝐷𝑜𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑐𝑡 𝐶𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑇𝑖𝑘𝑇𝑜𝑘” at the 𝑇𝑢𝑑𝐶𝑜𝑚 4.0 𝑆𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 hosted by the Department of Digital Media and Communication at the University of Public Service (NKE).

Her research explores how credibility is constructed when the “medical voice” is no longer tied to institutions, but instead to algorithms, formats, and visual language.

Congrats Csilla! 🎉

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬: Generative AI and Cultural Heritage. University of Turin, Italy, 29-30 October 2026
Deadline for the submission of abstracts: June 30, 2026

Cultural heritage – defined as the tangible and intangible legacy that is passed down from generation to generation – has always been sensitive to technological innovation. From photography to film, from computing to the Internet, from social media to virtual reality, cultural preservation, exhibition, communication and memory has been informed by the introduction of media innovations, and institutions such as museums, archives and libraries have often been early adopters of new technologies. Technological companies such as internet platforms have also been active in protecting and innovating cultural heritage for either commercial or public purposes. The development of Generative AI signals a new episode in this trajectory. Systems such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and text-to-image models provide new resources for institutions, platforms, practitioners, and users to engage with the historical record, produce text and audiovisuals related to cultural heritage, and access historical sources. Through a combination of interdisciplinary keynotes, paper presentations and roundtables, this conference aims to illuminate the implications of these emerging practices and approaches.

Our 3rd-year PhD student, Kundyz Mukhangali, presented their preliminary study, conducted together with Lilla Szabó and András Rácz, on the topic of "Constructing foreign relations in the media: The figurative framing of Central Asia and Russia in Russian news media." The presentation was given during the CoCoCo Corvinus Communication School's conference in Budapest.

The study explores the metaphorical language of the mainstream Russian media that describes complex and multi-layered relationships between Russia and its Central Asian neighbors. Employing a cognitive linguistics lens, the study finds that personification is one of the most frequent metaphors that manifest across different kinds of relationships between nations (e.g., partnership, friendship, authority figure, and others).

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬: TudCom 4: Tudományos ismeretterjesztés: szórakoztatva oktatás
📍Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem, Budapest
📆 2026. május 22.
Jelentkezési határidő: 2026. március 31.

A Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem NITK Digitális Média és Kommunikáció Tanszéke konferenciát szervez Tudományos ismeretterjesztés: szórakoztatva oktatás címmel. A sorozat három korábbi tanácskozása a tudománykommunikáció alapvetéseire, az online tudománykommunikációra, legutoljára pedig a mesterségesintelligencia-fejlesztések tudományos kommunikációra gyakorolt hatására helyezte a hangsúlyt.

Ezúttal a tudományos ismeretterjesztés elméletével és gyakorlatával kívánunk foglalkozni. A tanácskozásra olyan elemzéseket, a tudománykommunikáció elméleti és/vagy gyakorlati repertoárját gazdagító vizsgálatokat várunk, amelyekben kiemelt szerep jut a tudományos ismeretterjesztés lehetőségeinek, ún. edutainment törekvéseknek, a szórakoztatva tanítás módszereinek, előnyeinek és esetleges hátulütőinek. Tudománykommunikációs (jó)gyakorlatok bemutatására is lesz lehetőség, poszterelőadás formájában.
