Pro Progressione is a Budapest-based artistic hub in the field of culture

Pro Progressione is a Budapest-based artistic hub that connects people, professions and ambitions by designing international collaborations in the field of culture. From this combination, creative ideas emerge - artists, cultural activists, scientists and experts of various fields meet and give cutting-edge answers for the questions of our age. We focus our capacities on the fields where we aim to have a positive long-term impact, thus Pro Progressione is built up on four main pillars, PP Social, PP Cult, PP Arts and PP Sound. We are active in the field of socially engaged arts, cultural & natural heritage interpretation, music as tradition and the productions of unique performances. Our innovative team disposes of a large scale of professional competences and creativity, each of our members are personally engaged with arts and culture. Pro Progressione has been implementing numerous international projects supported by the European Commission. We believe in interdisciplinary creation, in a mutual exchange between disciplines, art forms and actors of social and artistic fields. Our overall objective is to create an international network of artists, institutions and audiences by helping the communities to find their path towards arts. Pro Progressione is active in a wide range of cultural associations and programmes: Culture Action Europe, IETM, MitOst, Voices of Culture, Association of Independent Performing Arts in Hungary.

🌿 Art, nature and shared reflection: the fourth year of the Big Green has begun!

Last week, we joined our project partners in Gorzanów, Poland, for a retreat officially opening the fourth year of the Big Green, dedicated to Ecosystem. With Gorzanów Palace as our base, we explored connections between culture and nature through the surrounding landscapes, local stories and creative communities.

The programme brought together geological walks, an artistic exploration of peatlands, visits to local artists’ studios and a workshop on inclusive communication. Alongside our discussions, there was time for shared meals, informal encounters and an intergenerational evening of dance.

These shared experiences offered a starting point for the year ahead: how are landscapes, water, local knowledge, art and community life connected?

💚 A heartfelt thank you to our hosts, the Art Transparent team, for their thoughtful organisation, warm hospitality and rich programme! Thank you also to all our partners for the conversations and time together. We look forward to continuing our shared work!

The Big Green project is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

🌿 Művészet, természet és közös gondolkodás: elindult a the Big Green negyedik éve!

Múlt héten a lengyelországi Gorzanówban találkoztunk projektpartnereinkkel, hogy közösen megnyissuk a the Big Green negyedik, Ecosystem tematikájú évét.

⛪️Two artists were selected for the MON-ART residency at Tihany Benedictine Abbey ( Tihanyi apátság ) to explore the connections between contemporary art, Benedictine heritage and the natural landscape of Lake Balaton. Through collaboration with the monastic and local communities, they will develop artistic projects that encourage shared creation, ecological awareness and new ways of connecting with the area’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

⛪️Let's meet now one of the artists!

⛪️Sanja Dragutinović Komatina, MA is an artist, iconographer and conservator-restorer based between Budapest and Belgrade. She graduated in painting and restoration from the University of Arts in Belgrade, where she later taught conservation and restoration for 25 years, and also was a guest lecturer at University in Thessaloniki (Greece). She specialized in wall-painting conservation at ICCROM in Rome and worked on conservation projects in Turkey, Italy and Serbia. After decades devoted to conservation and education, she has returned to her primary artistic practice: painting. Her work has been exhibited in Serbia, Hungary and Canada. Her recent practice combines traditional icon painting with a personal artistic expression.

⛪️Edoardo Bosi, also known as , is an Italian artist, musician and sound designer based in Milan. Born in the UK and raised in Uganda, his practice moves between music, sound recording, sound design and experimental approaches to listening. His work explores relationships between sound, place, memory and human experience/ perception, often combining field recordings with composed and improvised music. He studied Music Production and Sound Engineering in Berlin before completing a Master’s degree in Music Publishing in Milan. His work spans recorded music, live performance and site-responsive sound projects.

⛪️“I’m interested in discovering Tihany by listening rather than simply looking at it. The residency gives me the time to become attentive to the small sounds, silences, voices and rhythms that make a place what it is, and to understand how those sounds change through the people who inhabit it.”

💚 A few days have passed since we packed up our tent in Kapolcs, but we're still carrying the Valley of Arts with us.

Over five unforgettable days, the Pro Progressione Tent became a place for encounters, conversations, creativity, and shared experiences. Together we sewed, painted with plants, crafted jewellery, watched films, launched a book, explored new perspectives through inspiring discussions, and experienced participatory art.

This gallery is a small selection of the many moments we'll remember from this year's festival. Thank you to all our artists, speakers, workshop leaders, moderators, performers, partners, and, above all, to everyone who visited us.

See you next time! 🌿

A most megosztott fotóválogatás csupán néhány pillanatot őriz abból a sok élményből, amelyet együtt élhettünk át. Köszönjük művészeinknek, előadóinknak, moderátorainknak, workshopvezetőinknek, partnereinknek és minden látogatónknak, hogy velünk voltatok.

Találkozunk legközelebb! 🌿
