Warm, carefully integrated lighting accentuates the textures, materials, and architectural details throughout the interior. Around the staircase, layered illumination creates depth and a softer sense of movement between spaces.

Casa Mia — from first lines to built form.

The design began with a study of proportion, openness, and the relationship between indoor and outdoor living. These early sketches shaped the spatial language and tropical character that would later define the completed home.

As daylight fades, warm architectural lighting brings depth to the façade, highlighting the timber, stone, and layered volumes while creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The lighting design by XYIllumination, integrated with a DALI control system, helps shape the atmosphere of the home after dark.

The reception area is more than just a waiting space—it’s the first voice of the brand. In this commercial design, we grounded the zone with a minimalist matte black counter, contrasting it against the rich, warm, geometric texture of the ribbed wood ceiling. Track lighting provides the perfect definition, guiding the eye through the open volume.

We utilized these powerful, patinaed metal columns to ground the expansive volume and visually define the boundaries of the main hall. They provide a rugged, textured anchor that contrasts beautifully with the sleek interior finishes. Look closer at the ceiling: the unique perforated pattern adds an unexpected visual beat, complementing the track lighting and architectural artwork. It’s all in the layers.
