Long before modern conservation became a global movement, indigenous communities across Indonesia had already applied ways of living in harmony with nature
For generations, indigenous communities in Indonesia have been viewing forests, rivers, oceans, and land not simply as source of resources, but a legacy passed down to future generations 👣

We shared seedling cultivation training with the PLN team!🌱⚡
Recently, Trees4Trees conducted a nursery operations and seedling cultivation training for 15 PLN staff, Indonesia’s state electricity company, together with local forest farmer communities 👨🌾🌳
The training covered nursery infrastructure, growing media composition, seedling care, pest management, and seedling distribution procedures
This initiative is part of Trees4Trees' support for the Cisokan Hydroelectric Power Plant in West Bandung, where healthy upstream watersheds play a vital role in sustaining water resources, soil conservation, and biodiversity 🦜🐾
By strengthening nursery management skills, the program aims to help local communities produce native tree seedlings and restore forest areas that protect the Cisokan River watershed

This month, Trees4Trees turns 18! 🎉🌳🌳
Just like turning 18 marks a new chapter in life, this month marks 18 years of planting trees, restoring landscapes, and growing alongside communities across Indonesia 🇮🇩🌱
Together with our partners and local communities, we've planted more than 17 million trees. Along the way, we've embraced the local wisdom that has helped protect nature for generations✨
We believe a greener future grows not only from the roots of trees, but also from the people and traditions that care for them

Did you know? Indonesia is a home to more than 30,000 flora with over 5,000 native trees, the richest in Southeast Asia 🌏🌳
This diversity is beyond number; it impacts ecological functions such as soil fertility, regulates water systems, supports carbon sequestration, and provides habitat for countless animals 🐾🦜🌿
Each native tree plays a unique role in sustaining life and ecosystem balance

We recently collaborated with EcoCreative Cluster and Batik Mekar Canting Group in an online discussion exploring mangrove restoration and batik-making with natural dyes 🌿🌊
We also thank EcoCreative Cluster for donating mangrove trees to support coastal communities and mangrove restoration efforts in Kampung Laut, Cilacap 🌱

Three years later, the trees we planted are flourishing! 🌳🌳🌳
We’re thrilled to see the trees planted in the buffer zone of Jakarta growing so well 🌱🏙️
In 2023, together with local farmers and supported by our partner , we began planting trees around the industrial areas of Cikarang and Bekasi. Now, three years later, the trees are thriving and flourishing 🌿🙌 a sign that an urban forest is beginning to take shape 🌏🌳

Small in size, but vital for life in tropical ecosystems. 🐝🌿
Klanceng bees are stingless native bees found in tropical regions like Indonesia.
Living in colonies, they build nests from tree resin, propolis, and natural wax. Despite their tiny size, these bees are powerful pollinators that support forest regeneration, biodiversity, and agricultural productivity 🌱🌳
Their role goes far beyond producing honey. They help maintain ecosystem balance and remind us that even the smallest creatures can make a huge impact on nature
Protecting pollinators means protecting forests, food systems, and the future of our planet.
