The President, Executive Committee and Members of Athy RFC would like to extend their sympathies to our past President Alf Fraser on the passing of his wife Caroline Fraser and to his children John, Joy and Shiree and the extended Fraser and Lazenby families.

Caroline was a loyal supporter of Athy RFC throughout the years when both Alf and John played for the Club, always on the sideline or sitting by the fire after the matches.

May Caroline Rest in Peace.

Well done to our U13 Boys who played their first 15-a-side game last Saturday when hosting Clindalkin RFC at The Showgrounds.

The lads took to it like ducks to water, scoring 2 tries in the first 5 minutes. The home team ran in 11 tries in total with x8 of them duly converted to secure the win against a Clondalkin team that kept trying right to the end.

Well done to everyone involved 👏

An excellent performance to get our League campaign started.

Tries 💥 came from Daniel Henry, (x3), Eoghan Farrell, John Sheedy, Tom Brady, Sean Donohoe and Kevin Downey with Josh Miller adding 5 conversions 🦵✅️

Today we honour our Club Captain, Craig Miller, on his 💯 th Athy J1 appearance.

Having played Minis Rugby in Athy, Craig played schools rugby in Kilkenny College where he also now coaches before playing AIL rugby for UL Bohemians and Old Wesley RFC

Craig's return to Athy was pivotal in driving standards and the return of many others as we rose through the Leinster League Divisions and then bridged a 41 year gap to see Craig lift 2 Provincial Towns Cups 🏆 🏆 as Vice Captain first and then Captain. Known to the younger members of the squad as "Grandad", he has had a major impact through coaching inputs with our underage teams and with the North Midlands Rugby Develoment Squads

Craig has also captained the Leinster Juniors and made a huge impact to grassroots rugby but he is far from finished yet 💪

As if there wasn't enough to draw you all to The Showgrounds tomorrow we will also have Grá Éire playing great music 🎶 from 5pm - 7pm
