History Maker Ciara Enjoys Stellar 2026 Season

Zerofit is proud to partner with some of the biggest names in motorcycling, but we are just as passionate when to comes to supporting the next generation of talent from all over the world.

This year, 16-year-old Ciara Cahoon has cemented her reputation as one of the sport’s rising stars with a history-making victory at the Aintree Championship in May, when she battled it out to become the first ever female to win a 600cc Supersport race.

During that Merseyside meeting, she also became the first female to win the Carole Fairclough Memorial Race, and her performances were good enough to secure a third place in the overall 600cc Supersport Standings – all while relying on the performance of Zerofit Baselayers and Leggings.

Born in South Africa’s Cape Town, Ciara emigrated to Carlow, Ireland with her racing-loving parents Darrin and Trudy in 2013, and it wasn’t long before the bug bit for the youngster, too.

‘I grew up around motorcycles as both of my parents and their friends were into
motorcycle racing, track days and motocross,’ she said,

‘When I was eight years old, I asked for a Motocross bike for Christmas and learnt to ride around the farm fields, which quickly led to competing in grass track events.

‘I thoroughly enjoyed the sport because of the adrenaline rush and realised that I was fairly decent at riding competitively. Once I had changed from grass to tarmac there was no turning back – the speed of the track and the skills I needed to develop took it up to another level for me in terms of excitement,’ added Ciara, who counts fellow Zerofit athlete Glenn Irwin as one of her biggest influences, alongside Valentino Rossi, Tayla Collins and Jake Dixon.

Ciara’s pace on the track is matched by the pace of her achievements. Victory in the Open Grasstrack Championship in the KTM 85cc Small Wheel was followed by a second place in the Southern Centre Championship, both in 2022.

Like all Zerofit athletes, Ciara races in the IceSkin Baselayer and Leggings.

The following year she won the Two Stroke Junior Elite 65cc in the acclaimed Irish Minibike Championship, finishing second in the same competition in 2024 while also recording a highly credible sixth in the Moto1 Ulster Superbike (USBK) Championship.

Ciara went one better in 2025 and also finished sixth in the Moto3 USBK Championship before her outstanding achievements in 2026 at Aintree.

And when she’s not setting the pace on two wheels, she can be found leading the line for St. Pats AFC, scoring goals and maintaining her fitness away from the paddock, as well as following a strict regime set by fitness coach Paul Ward.

‘I’ll train from 5.30am and be back home for 7am, before school at 8am. Then it’s back in the gym or doing other fitness work for 45 minutes, three nights a week, as well as football training on top of that,’ she said.

Under the guidance of Team Manager John Wilkinson, Ciara continues on her athlete journey in 2027 and will spend the off-season preparing to compete once more in the USBK Championship while returning to Aintree next summer and also racing at the North Gloucestershire Championship. Race Report - David Wood Trophy Meeting
19/ 20th September 2026 at Bishopscourt Race Circuit
Promoting Club - MotorCycle Road Racing Club of Ireland

Arriving at circuit early Saturday morning and after setup and scruitineering, Ciara got ready to head out for her practice sessions and then she was into Qualifying.

Moto3 - riding Bryan Harding's Moto3 Honda Ciara was able to Qualify in 4th position with a time of 1:19.543 for race 1 on Saturday afternoon.

Race 1 - Prior to race 1 there was a shower of rain which meant a quick change to wet's which turned out to be a good call. We know how much Ciara can ride in wet conditions she was able to get through the pack to ride a brilliant race to finish a strong 2nd.

Race 2 - With her lap times from race 1 Ciara started from 2nd on the grid but she didn't get away with the pack and rode a steady race to finish up 5th in class.

Race 3 - Starting P6 on the grid, Ciara again didn't get a good start but she got the head down and was able to make up the ground to get back with the pack and running consistent 1:19's to finish in P3.

Overall Ciara finished 3rd, Congratulation's

Supersport Cup - After having completed her practice and Qualifying Ciara again Qualified for the Supersport Pro class putting in a best time of 1:15.633 which put her on P25 for race 1

Race 1 - With now having qualified to the Pro class Ciara's races were running back to back. This meant Moto3 10 lapper and then into a 12 lap race. Making a good start Ciara ran in 1:17's and dipped into low 1:16's which allowed her to finish P8 in the Cup class .

Race 2 - Starting from P23 this time Ciara again fought hard running consistent 1:17 laps to finish P23 and P12 in the Cup class.

Race 3 - Starting from P27 on the grid again Ciara made a good start running 1:16 laps Ciara retired from the race on lap 4 with clutch problems.

Overall a good weekend on both machines.

Race Preview - USBK Championship Rnd 8 at Bishopscourt Race Circuit

For a third weekend in a row Cahoon Racing will be taking in Rnd 8 of the Ulster Superbike Championship. This is a two day meeting on Saturday and Sunday the 19th/ 20th September.

We hope that Ciara will continue the great form and speed she's had over the last couple of meeting's. With Ciara's results from last Saturday we hope that she can continue that run on both Bryan Harding's Moto3 Honda and on her own Honda CBR600RR.
